You are your child’s PFD!!
Pastor Rouland in Confirmation always says at the first class, you are your child’s PFD, Personal Faith Developer.  As parents we are given the task of developing our child’s faith.  Do not fear you are not alone in this task.  The Holy Spirit will help you along with Zion Church and School.  You may wonder what a PFD does;
Pastor Rouland gives three responsibilities:
set an example, be authentic, and be faithful.
May God bless you in your job of PFD!

We are learning to FOCUS, using our eyes, ears, and brain.  When we FOCUS we look at the person talking, we listen to what the person is saying, and we use our brain to think about what the person is telling us to do.  Sometimes we even repeat in our head what they said to remember.  This is something you could practice at home!

We worked on our stations this week.  If your stations for the week are completed by Friday, the students get fun Friday.  Look for the pictures at the end of the blog.  If your stations are not done you need to complete the station before going to a fun station.  If you are still not done you need to stay in recess to finish.

It is exciting to see the students learn the routine of first grade.  I am very proud that they come in and do the morning work with few reminders.  Way to be independent!

Enjoy the three day weekend and be your child's PFD.  May we join in the Psalmist and proclaim: "I was glad when they said to me, let us go to the house of the Lord!"

All for ONE,
Amy Bernhardt
