Please make sure your child spends some time reading over break even just 10 minutes a day will help them maintain the fluency that we have been working hard on.
If you have any concerns or questions I would love to meet with you after 2nd quarter report cards come out. I will reach out to those parents I would like to meet with. 2nd quarter ended today and report cards will come out when we return to school.
Thank you for your prayers and concern as a recover from my concussion. I am starting to feel better and hope extra rest the next days will bring me back to full health before my FIRST GRANDCHILD is born!
Please keep my Hannah and Matt in your prayers as Hannah is due December 28 with our first grandchild, a girl!

Floating gardens came home this week
the Aztecs lived in a swampy land and made giant rafts to farm on, so we made a 'raft' to farm on. The plants are bean sprouts and can be eaten!
We are working on our Advent Service. We continue to practice our special Bible verse part and songs.
-Our Advent services will be Wednesday, December 17thin the Zion Sanctuary.
-The students will be leading the Advent chapel during school at 10 am . For the morning service Christmas shirts are welcome, but please keep designs simple and appropriate for church. Avoid humorous, loud, or overly distracting images. Subtle Christmas tops—trees, snowflakes, nativity themes, or classic patterns—are great. Regular uniform bottoms are still required. If you’re unsure about a shirt, a red or green polo works well. All dress-up days are optional; regular uniform dress is always fine.
Students may wear Christmas accessories on Wednesday, but they will remove them for the morning service and may put them back on afterward.
-Students will also be leading the church service at the 7 pm service that evening. Please have your child arrive at 6:45 p.m. in the church basement. Teachers will not be in the church basement until this time, so please stay with your child until a teacher arrives. Students will need to be wearing standardized dress or church clothes. No jeans please. Please keep your child's coat and belongings with you because after the service you will be meeting your child in the narthex/welcome center area near the sanctuary.
-Your child will need to be in attendance at both services; parents and family are welcome to come to either service.
We will move to the front of the church to do our speaking part and song. I will take a picture that I will share.
I want you to know that it is harder to see the kids when you are in the front/side pews.

FRIDAY IS A HALF DAY WITH DISMISSAL AT NOON!
We will be having our class party Friday at 9:30 am. Thank you to parent helpers. We will be having different stations that will be run by our helper parents.
We will be making hygiene kits for the Bethlehem Lutheran St. Louis Food Pantry. We will also be playing games, making a craft and eating pizza, and oranges If your child doesn't want or can't eat pizza feel free to send them a cold lunch.
100 CERAL BOXES: We will need 100 empty cereal boxes by January 23. Please send in your empty cereal boxes!!!

An angel told Mary and Joseph that they would have a special baby and they should name him
JESUS, which means "GOD SAVES".
May we be God's messengers as we tell others the GOOD NEWS that Jesus the Savior is born!
