We are learning that Advent is a time to wait, prepare, rejoice and tell. I hope you carve some time out to do the special Advent devotions with your family. Help prepare your hearts for Jesus this Advent. In school we lit the advent candles, have a special devotion, put up a special ornament on the Advent tree, and sing Advent songs.

1st/2nd Grade Advent Service
We have started working on our Advent Service. We are learning our special Bible verse part and songs.
-Our Advent services will be Wednesday, December 17.
-The students will be leading the Advent chapel during school at 10 am and they will need to wear their normal standardized dress.
-Students will also be leading the church service at the 7 pm service that evening. Please have your child arrive at 6:45 p.m. in the church basement. Teachers will not be in the church basement until this time, so please stay with your child until a teacher arrives. Students will need to be wearing standardized dress or church clothes. Please keep your child's coat and belongings with you because after the service you will be meeting your child in the narthex/welcome center area near the sanctuary.
-Your child will need to be in attendance at both services; parents and family are welcome to come to either service.
We will be having our class party Friday, December 19 at 9:30 am. Thank you to parent helpers. We will be having different stations that will be run by our helper parents. These parents signed up to help run centers:
If there has been a change and you are unable to help please let me know. Thank you! If you are not assigned but can come for the whole time to help let me know. If you can come for just part of the time feel free to pop in. Our party will be in the church basement.
I will need a parent volunteer to go pick up our pizza at 11:00. Let me know if you can help. (even if you are a signed up parent centers will be done at that time!)
We will be making Hygiene Bags for Bethlehem's Food Bank. We will also be playing games, making crafts, and eating Little Ceasarspizza, oranges, and water. If your child doesn't want or can't eat pizza feel free to send them a cold lunch.
If you would like to help with donations for the Hygiene Bags please you can visit the google doc to sign up to send in items or if it is easier you can Venmo me and I will purchase items. I have also requested a Thrivent Grant to help fund this project.
Please send in items or Venmo by Friday December 11.
