Zion's Christmas Service Times:

 Christmas Eve: 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 and 11:00
   Christmas Day: 9:00

I could not be prouder of our class and the constant witness they are for Jesus.

I want to share with you a few ways the class has shared Gospel this Advent:

We collected $ 275  and provided 20 children gifts for Christmas as well as gave their families a tub of necessities.

We proclaimed the Good News of Jesus at our Advent service as we told about how the songs of Christmas tell us about our SAVIOR'S birth.

Our class wore bells to ring out the JOY we have at Jesus birth.

We continue to pray for those in need.

It is a JOY it spend the weeks before Christmas with your child.  The students' JOY for Jesus birth is contagious!!!

SPECIAL GUEST:  To celebrate Epiphany we will have a special guest the week will get back. The published author Joanne Bader will come to our room, tell us about being an author, read a few of her books, and then autograph a book for us.  This will kick off our unit of writing that when end with us publishing a book.  More info to come...

      

FIELD TRIP TO FLORISSANT CIVIC CENTER TO SEE CHARLOTTE'S WEB.  We will be going on January 15, 2016, look for a permission slip the week we get back. Kari McCann and Becky Bromberg signed up to be chaperones.  If you can't chaperone let me know and I will find someone else.  Thanks

It is the third week the Joy week.  Mr. Nilllson gave us bells.

 
He moved during the day and left notes for us.

Shall come to you oh Israel

As we enter the third week in Advent we remember the JOY that Jesus brings to us both at Christmas and all year.  We have complete JOY knowing that Jesus came to free us from the slavery of sin, death, and the devil.  We have complete JOY knowing that we are given the gift of new life.

Rejoice, Rejoice, Immanuel

ADVENT SERVICE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 10:00 and 7:00

For the morning service your child should just wear the school uniform, no 'fancy' clothes please.

For the evening service please have your child in the church basement at 6:50.  Please keep your child's coat.  Please DO NOT drop your child off early.  There will be no adult supervision till 6:50.  You may not leave your child without their teacher there.

For the evening service your child may wear a Christmas outfit, other Church clothes, or school uniform.  Please no jeans. After the service your child will be waiting for you in the Welcome Center.

We have been working hard on this service.  We each have our individual part and our songs ready.  We are excited to share the message of Jesus birth.

CLASS CHRISTMAS PARTY: Friday, December 18

We will go to Walmart at 9:20 to purchase gifts for the Napali Refugee children.

Thank you to our Chaperones: Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Cooper, Mr. LaCroix, Mrs. Helm, Mrs. Paradis, Mrs. MacCann, and Hannah Bernhardt. You are invited to come to chapel with us or meet us in our room at 9:10. If you can stay to help wrap the gifts that would be great! Please email me how many people you can put in your car with seatbelt. 

 I COULD USE A FEW MORE CHAPERONES if you are able to come please email me!

We will then come back to our room and wrap the presents.  

Our room parents are providing a pizza lunch for us so you will NOT NEED A LUNCH on Friday, unless you don't want pizza.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 18 is an EARLY DISMISSAL:  SCHOOL GETS OUT AT 12:00!

CHRISTMAS SERVICE PROJECT:  We have collected $150 dollars for our Christmas Service project.  I was hoping to spend at least $15 on each child.  There are 20 children.  Right now we can only spend $7.50 on each child.  If you have not donated money please send your donation in to school by Wednesday so I can but the Walmart TWB cards and plan out what we can spend on each child.  Thank you for sharing Jesus with your donations!

For the hundredth day of school I will need 100 cereal boxes.  Please save your boxes and send them in to school after Christmas break.

In this busy time please remember the JOY of Jesus coming and the JOY that only He can bring.  Make time for family, do something fun together, make time for worship, get your strength for the coming week!

ADVENTURES IN CHRISTMAS

Mr. Nillson reminded us to light 2 candles.

Mr. Nillson donated money for our service project.

 
 Mr. Nillson's friend gave him a Christmas tree!

Mr. Nillson played with a nativity set and told the story of Christmas.

We found candy canes in our math boxes.  Thanks Mr. Nillson.

Then we hid candy canes in other classrooms!

We love journaling about our monkey's adventures.

 

Lutheran High Students came in to invite us to all the fun things happening Friday night!

We made an angel choir!!

We buddy read Christmas books. 

We did a lot of centers, but didn't quite get done...

...because we have been busy practicing for our Advent service.

 We learned about verbs and made ACTION HEROS!

We had a great time making our very own nativity set.

 We practiced telling the Christmas story with our nativity sets.
