All Classes (K-8) come visit the Book Fair on
Wednesday, March 4th.
The book fair will also be open during Grandparents' Special Friends' Day Friday March 6th

FRIDAY IS GRANDPARENTS' - SPECIAL FRIENDS' DAY
Zion asks that students come with their Grandparent/Special Friend and stay with their Grandparent/Special Friend throughout the morning schedule.  Family may stay together. For proper supervision students must have an adult present to attend the special day on Zion's campus.

Thursday March 5 is Mrs. Holtz, our wonderful school secretary's birthday.
It would be great to shower her with cards and little gifts.
Feel free to send in a card or little something with your child and I will make sure you child gives it to her.

Please take a moment to look over your child’s recent Addition Sums to 10 assessment. Many students were previously proficient with completing 30 problems in one minute, and are currently not meeting that benchmark.

We practice these addition facts at school on Wednesdays and again on the day of the assessment. If your child is not proficient with 30 problems in one minute, a little extra practice at home would be very beneficial. Short, consistent practice sessions can make a big difference.

Flashcards are a great tool, and even using travel time in the car for quick practice can help build fluency and confidence. You are also welcome to visit the website listed below for additional support and practice opportunities.

Thank you for partnering with us to help your child grow in math fluency.

We continue to learn subtraction facts.

It is hard to believe next Friday is the end of third quarter. Report cards will be home the following week.

A BIG THANK YOU to those who have generously donated to help the Feivet-Green (Jameson's) family.  You may send me Venmo till Sunday as I plan to get the gift cards on Sunday.  You may also send in a card or note and I will include it in the gift basket that we will give the family on Monday. Please keep Lisa and the family in your prayers.
This week we are only lighting 5 candles.

Enjoy your weekend and may worship be a priority for your family.
In Him,
Amy

WEEK of KINDNESS
We made a poster for our room!

For chapel we had to write someone who had been kind to us and put it on a giant poster.
I loved the notes the class wrote so I took a picture so you could see their notes before the notes were put on the giant poster.

February 20, 2026

Sign us with ashes
Merciful God
Child of dust as to dust we return
Mark us and make us your own

God has marked us at our baptisms.  He makes us His and promises to never let go.  As we journey through Lent let us focus on the price that was paid for us.  To claim us God sacrificed His only Son.  Praise be to God for His everlasting love for us.

Lent began February 18 with Ash Wednesday.  Lent is my favorite time of the church year.  I like the Lent Church Services on Wednesdays after school.  I have a tradition that if your family is going to church at 3:30 I invite my students to come sit with me if they would like, so if your child wants to come sit with me send them on up.

(I sit in the front of church)

This year Zion will have a 3:30 and 7:00 service.
During Lent I try to recommit myself to personal devotions and prayer.  This is a time to focus on Jesus and His great love for us.  Jesus gave His life so that I can live.

There is nothing I can do to gain forgiveness and eternal life it is God's gift through Jesus!  So instead of giving something up for Lent try doing the opposite and adding something ... maybe commit to Wednesday night church, do personal devotions, do family devotions, or make weekend worship a priority in your family.  I know your faith life will be strengthened.

I hope your family will use the Lent worship center.  May this be a reminder to spend time as a family around God’s Word and in prayer.

We had a short week with President's Day and Mrs. Glover's funeral. I had a wonderful week getting to know Lakelyn and helping my daughter.  Enjoy the weekend.
If you attend Zion this weekend you will recognize some 'helpers' in my children's message!
