Zion's Lessons and Carols is this Sunday it is another way to take sometime to focus on Jesus. This service last about one hour and 15 minutes and focuses on Jesus coming into our dark world to bring light.

ADVENT SERVICE: We will lead worship WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 18 at 10 and 7. . We will begin practicing in the church for our service on Monday. PLEASE continue to practice your child's individual part focusing in on loud and slow!

Friday December 13, 5:30-8 come to LHS and get a free picture with Santa. Enjoy the home basketball games. Bring a new toy for a child in need. I went last year and it was great!!!

Please check your child's Friday papers for correct and redo at home papers. I have started to write CAR on Correct And Return papers. Please correct them and send them back on Monday. Please remember to check over both of your child's math homework each night. I have been finding many mistakes in Math.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS:
DIAPERS AND WIPES FOR THRIVE: Thank you for the donations that have already come in. We will be collect diapers, wipes, and gently used baby items until December 18th.
PRAYERS AND CARDS FOR DREW: A preschooler here at Zion, Drew Albritton, has cancer and will be unable to return to school for a while due to winter illnesses. He is currently struggling to fight RSV and the flu. These are scary for any child, but especially for Drew as these illnesses can be life threatening to him. We want to show Drew and his parents that ZION IS FAMILY by praying for them and supporting them through all of this. I have volunteered our class to give prayer support during Christmas break. Our class will make him a giant card and include a gift card to Walmart, which I will mail during break.. I thought that maybe your famliy could show support during break as well. If you could take a moment during break and make and send a card with a bible verses to Drew and his parents. The families address can be found in the school directory or I can email it to you. What a great way for your family to support another family in need of prayer!

| We celebrate Advent each day with a special devotion and ornament for our Advent Tree. Look for the ornament and your child's Advent Tree. |

| Each day we color an Advent ornament. |

| We have a special center in Advent where we can tell the Good News with different Nativities. |

| We go to special Advent Worship Services. One thing we learned this week was about Christmas Lights and Jesus being the Light of the World!  |
 We named our Monkey Elvis. |

| At first he was a little naughty and didn't know how to prepare for Christmas. |

| He made some friends and started showing Jesus' kindness. |
 |
| He made himself an Advent Tree so he could learn the story of Jesus birth. |

| He even helped us with Math Meeting. |

| Each day we write about where we found Elvis and what he did during the night. |

| We are learning about the sky, here we are journaling about the sun. |

| In Guided Reading we learned about character analysis. |

| Having fun in the unseasonably warm weather. |
