This year, our first semester chapel offerings will support Bethlehem Lutheran School’s Breakfast Program. Bethlehem currently serves 70 students, from infants through 5th grade, and is the only Lutheran school located in St. Louis City.

Our goal is to provide a full month of breakfast meals for these students. Each meal costs just $2, and together we hope to fund 2,100 meals—totaling $4,500.

Thank you for your generosity and partnership as we join Bethlehem in sharing the love of Jesus with children and families in St. Louis.

We are working on writing our first and LAST names.  If your child can't write his/her last name please practice that at home. (see assessment paper in Friday Folder)

We will continue to work on writing our first and last names correctly here at school as well.

When doing CAR paper at home please use a PENCIL.

Thank you!

If you need a  pencil for at home let me know and I can send one home for you to keep at home.

PLAN AHEAD:

September 18, 5:30-7- First Grade Playground Night

October 12 at 10:30- We sing in church

Take a look at the Grammar and Spelling Assessments in the Friday Folders.  These were practice tests for the first graders this week.  The assessments are how I get grades for Grammar, Word Work, and Math.  I graded the assessments so you can see how the assessments will be graded each week.

Take a look at your child's writing numbers assessment.
Research shows that the first step in fact fluency is being able to write numbers accurately and efficiently.  Next week we will start with the next step of fact fluency counting on fluency.
We wil retest writing number fluency next week.

You are your child’s PFD!!
Pastor Rouland in Confirmation always says at the first class, you are your child’s PFD, Personal Faith Developer.  As parents we are given the task of developing our child’s faith.  Do not fear you are not alone in this task.  The Holy Spirit will help you along with Zion Church and School.  You may wonder what a PFD does;
Pastor Rouland gives three responsibilities:
set an example, be authentic, and be faithful.

May God bless you in your job of PFD!
