A circled number or letter is how I mark a reversal or misformed number or letter
and I have the child write the number/letter correctly.
We have started our fact fluency. To begin we practice writing numbers 1-10 fluently, that is quickly and accurately. Mastery is writing 1-10 in 20 seconds. We practice everyday and will take our first assessment next week.
We will be working on this for a few weeks.
on Tuesday. You will see some lessons have an a, b, and c lesson. The "a" lesson is the kindergarten lesson. The b/c lessons are the first grade lessons and build on the kindergarten knowledge. Feel free to practice the kindergarten lessons if you would like along with the first grade lessons.
We have also finished reviewing uppercase letters and we will start our focus on correctly forming lower case letters.
Art Portfolios are coming home tonight. You keep the art and send the portfolio back to school on Tuesday!
This week in chapel we started Faith Families! Each Faith Family is made up of students from different grades in 1st-8th grade who worship together throughout the year and join in special activities four times a year as part of our baptismal remembrance. Our first activity focused on our theme verse, “Be strong and courageous…for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). We are excited to see how God will grow our Faith Families this year!
Have a wonderful 4 day weekend! We have worked very hard this week at school. I am very pleased with the way the school year is starting! I am so proud of this class.
May worship be a priority for your family on this long weekend!

Amy Bernhardt
