We will be doing a service project for our Harvest Party. We will be make care packages for college students. I will be purchasing snacks to send, the students will be writing letters and putting Bible verses on post it notes to send. You can help by donating money to purchase the snacks. You can send me a donation to the service project via VENMO, or send money in an envelope and give to me.

Please send money by SEPTEMBER 27. I will get a Thrivent Grant to pay for the shipping of the care packages. We plan to make and send 40 care packages. Thank you for your help.
We still need adult size shoe boxes to use for the care packages. If you have some you are willing to share please send them to school and I will store them!
Do you know a college student that would love to receive a care package from Zion’s 1st grade classes? As part of our Fall service project, Zion’s 1st grade is assembling care packages on October 1 and shipping them out to college students, but in order to do this fun project we need names!

Story pages and Roll and Reads will come home every week in the red folder. Please have your child read through the story 2-3 times and/or play the word games. We are working on tracking with our finger (putting your finger under each word as it is being read). This is an important skill right now. Thank you for helping to build fluency with your child.
Please look at your child's Fact Fluency Assessment.
Mastery is 30 problems in 1 minute. This is a graded assessment. Each week 6 facts are learned and then new facts are added. If your child didn't get P please work on this week's facts as new facts will be added next week.

We continue to enjoy learning about the wonderful way God created our BODIES!
I will be absent on Tuesday as my daughter, Grace, is having back surgery. Please pray for her and the doctors and that everything goes smoothly and that she has relief from pain.
Mrs. Carol Koenig will be the sub she is a retired teacher who taught first grade for a ton of years.
Also if you need anything on Tuesday please contact the office.
