God has marked us at our baptisms. He makes us His and promises to never let go. As we journey through Lent let us focus on the price that was paid for us. To claim us God sacrificed His only Son. Praise be to God for His everlasting love for us.

Our Classroom Lent Worship Center

I hope your family will use the Lent worship center. May this be a reminder to spend time as a family around God’s Word and in prayer. After Lent you may take the candles out (Save them for next year) and hang the cross up with the plain side out. Then it is a year long reminder of our SAVIOR!! Thank you to Mr. Bernhardt, for cutting out the cross pieces for us to put together!

It was great celebrating God's love and sharing it with others on Valentine's Day.

Thank you for helping your child with Math. I have seen a lower number of CAR this week!

Listening and Following Directions: We are struggling with listening and following directions. I have started having kids practice during recess doing an oral following directions sheet. If you see following direction sheet in your child's folder please sign it and you will know that they had an extra struggle and needed to practice.
You can help me at home by:
-giving oral directions just once (forcing child to listen the first time)
-not give reminders (let child feel the natural consequences of not paying attentions or following directions)
-give 2 or 3 step directions (EXAMPLE:1. go upstairs, 2. get your shoes on, 3. brush your teeth)

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART: February 23 9:10-10:10

STUDENTS WHO HAVE RAISED AT LEAST $5.00 for the American Heart Association may wear ATHLETIC CLOTHING on their event day.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS are STILL needed for our Kindergarten through 5th grade events. Contact Mrs. Steinbacher at msteinbacher@zionharvester.org with any questions or to volunteer

GRANDPARENT'S-SPECIAL FRIEND DAY is MARCH 9. This day is for Grandparents or another special adult to spend the morning with us at school. This is a half day of school.

**An invitation went home last week.

**A Dismissal Form needs to be filled out for that day to let us know who is coming. (in Friday Folder)

** A map with the various activities is also coming home so that the family can choose what to do. (in Friday Folder)

Here is a reminder of the schedule for the day:

Grandparents’ or Special Friends’ Day is scheduled for Friday, March 9th from 8:00-11:00. Please plan on having a grandparent or special guest attend. Your child must have an adult present.

8:00 - 8:30 Arrive anytime between 8:00 - 8:30

8:00 - 9:45 AM Guests and students stay together and spend time at various activities. A map will go home with students and extra maps will be available that day. Family units decide where they want to start.

9:45 - 10:00 AM Guests and students travel to church sanctuary

10:00 - 11:00 Closing program and chapel

11:00 AM Dismissal (from the church sanctuary)
