March 16, 2016

As we journey with Jesus through Holy Week
we begin with Palm Sunday but all to soon the
shouts of HOSANNA turn to shouts of  CRUCIFY.

We are given many opportunities to focus on Jesus.

Monday-Friday, March 28-April 1 Easter Break No School

Zion was chosen by the Missouri Botanical Garden to be part of the Sprouting Science Program for 2016-2017.
This is very exciting.  We will be learning about plants and getting a school garden.   As I attend workshops we will be doing various activities in our classroom.
Families in my class are invited to the Botanical Garden on May 12, 5:30-7:30 for Family Garden Night.  This is a free event.  I will give you more information as soon as I receive it!
We started with describing this plant.

May we join together this weekend in worship as we sing our HOSANNAS and praise our KING in church!

IN HIM,
Amy

A small peek at our week...
Be sure to ask your child about the fun surprises on St. Patrick's Day and the testing rewards that were received!

TESTING...

On Monday we got shiny pencils to help us sparkle during our tests.

We also got SMARTIES because we are so smart!

Then we wrote, 'How to Blow a Bubble'.

We made a self portrait blowing a bubble.

We just had a BALL during testing week.

We enjoyed playing with the bouncy balls.

We learned about measuring with a ruler using inches.

We shared with partners what we learned about Georgia O'Keefe

We used real pictures of flowers to draw in the style of O'Keefe.

We were flying high this week and just soared through our testing.

We worked in a new poetry book reading the poems and illustrating them.

We even had a seek and find to do when we finished with our tests and while we waited for others to get done.
Finding good books in the library, with our great librarian!
