I am see too many CAR papers in math.  Please look over your child's math homework and if you see a mistake tell them that there is a wrong answer.  Have them be responsible to finding the mistake. (you may need to guide them a bit, i.e.... on the top half)

If your child has to leave early during the day please email me and let me know the time your child will be picked up.  This helps me get their work together as well as help if rearrange the day if they would be missing a test or special project.  Thank you for this consideration.

If your child arrives at school prior to 7:45 the students are to go to the gym.  If they don't want to change their shoes then they can play on the perimeter of the gym.  I try and use every second in the morning getting the room ready for students and I have been spending too much time monitoring children in the hall. Thanks you!!

Summer camp is coming up.  Please be sure to enroll your children by the beginning of March to ensure your spot.  There are enrollment packets in the office and on our Zion webpage.  If you have any questions please e-mail summercamp@zionharvester.org.

Lent begins next week with Ash Wednesday.  Lent is my favorite time of the church year.  I like the Wednesday after school church services, and I have to admit I like the meals following.  During Lent I try to recommit myself to personal devotions and prayer.  This is a time to focus on Jesus and His great love for us.  Jesus gave His life so that I can life.

For it is by GRACE you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one can boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

There is nothing I can do to gain forgiveness and eternal life it is God's gift through Jesus!  So instead of giving something up for Lent try doing the opposite and adding something ... maybe commit to Wednesday night church, attend Sunday Bible Classes, do personal devotions, do family devotions, or make weekend worship a priority in your family.  I know your faith life will be strengthened.

LENT WORSHIP CENTERS:  Today we began making a worship center for your home to help you will Lent Devotions.  This will come home on Tuesday, the cross can be used like an advent wreath, as you light a candle each week till Easter.  Lent begins on Wednesday so you will light the candle and add candles on Wednesdays.  I hope this helps your family focus your thoughts to Christ this Lent.  If you need a Lent family devotion book please let me know.

NOTE FROM MR. DEBRICK: Wednesday the 18th is Ash Wednesday, and begins Zion’s 3:30 (and 7:00) Lenten services.  Congregation members will be coming for the 3:30 service as school is being dismissed.  The handicapped parking spots outside the church entrance and in front of Jr. High should be kept open for these service goers.  Thank you for NOT parking in these handicap spots for after school pick up.
