Mrs. Bernhardt's First Grade: February 6, 2015

We have learned the story of Jesus telling the little children to come to Him. This is one of my favorite pictures of that story and it hung in my sister's room when we were growing up. The class is very excited to learn how important they are to Jesus. The class couldn't believe the disciples who told the children to go away. This week we learned about a miraculous catch of fish. We heard Jesus tell His disciples to be "fishers of men". We are also told to be "catch" people for Jesus. This weekend we get to share Jesus in church as we sing. It is awesome to see His CHILDREN sharing their faith of HIS story with others.

WE SING IN CHURCH THIS SATURDAY, February 7 at 5:00.
Please have your child to the upper music room by 4:45. We will come down for the children's message and after the message the children will come and sit with you, their families.

We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on FRIDAY. Please send your child’s Valentines in the morning. We have made our boxes and look forward to giving out the Valentines at the party (2:15-2:45). Please send a valentine for each child in the class. Look in past posts for the class list.

Please included everyone and remember please DO NOT send in candy or food with the valentines.

SIX FLAGS READING PROGRAM: We are participating in the Six Flags Reading Program. Don't forget READING LOGS will be DUE FEBRUARY 23. You may turn it in as soon as you are done.

Enrollment for 2015-2016 opens to the community on February 1^st. PDO, PS and younger grades will fill up fast. Please don’t delay on getting your paperwork filled out online to make sure you have a spot. We look forward to healthy enrollment in many classes for the upcoming school year.

TOGETHER WE'RE BETTER: Please support our school by using this easy program. The forms for TWB can be downloaded off Zion's website under the News section.

I will be using PTL money to fund a special Lent Devotion Project. Together We're Better provides money to fund special activities in the classrooms.

$4002 WOW! As a school we collected $4002 dollars for the Christian Resource Center in India. This is an amazing response to God's rich blessing to us at ZION! Thank you for all who participated in the Change War.

Don't forget to send in gently used coats and shoes for a our Valentine's Day Sharing Jesus LOVE!

A Thank You Card from the Napali Children

Dear Children at Mrs. Bernhardt!
Thank you so much for help Nepali children celebrate Christmas Day!
Your gifts were all well appreciated! I have had few of those children sign this 'Thank You' note!

I want you to know that all of these children are from very needy poor families and this might be the only Christmas gift they got this Christmas.
