We sing this SUNDAY, October 26. Please have your child in the upstairs choir room by 10:45. We will sing our songs and then come down to the children's message. After the children's message the class will then sit with their families. Please stand up after the children's message so that your child can see where you are sitting. Miss Bolt and I will help the children find their families.

To celebrate being healthy and drug free Student Council has giving us special dress up days:
Please wear regular dress code except when the day warrants a special shirt.
Monday, October 27: Turn Your Back on Drugs- wear your uniform backwards **See below for a special shirt option**
Tuesday, October 28: Team Up On Drugs - wear your favorite sports team shirt with uniform bottoms
Wednesday, October 29: Drugs Will Make You Confused- wear mismatched shoes with your uniform
Thursday, October 30: The Choice for Drugs is Black and White- wear a black and white shirt with uniform bottoms
Friday, October 31: Ride the Wave of Drug Prevention - wear sunglasses and flowered leis with your uniform
As many of you know, one of our preschool students from last year, Drew Albritton, went to be with Jesus in March of this year. Drew was such a special, fun, and spunky boy. Drew's birthday is coming up on Monday, October 27th, and I encourage you to wear yellow (color of childhood cancer awareness) or a "Drew shirt" (either the "Gassing Up for Drew" shirt or the new "Drew Superhero" shirt) as an addition to backward day. As you can imagine, this is a tough time for his family, and it is so important that we surround them with God's love and care.
I will be taking a picture of the children who participate with a yellow shirt (doesn't have to be a uniform shirt) and we will send it to Drew's family with a card that we are praying for them.
MUFFINS FOR MOMS is set for Wednesday morning, November 5th. Moms meet in the church basement between 7 and 7:45 AM to enjoy a donut and some coffee or juice with your child(ren). Everyone is invited to stay for chapel if you can. What a great time to spend time with the kids before they go off to school!!
In Chapel Mr. Debrick read to us 1 Thessalonians 5:14, he talk to us about 4 points in this Bible reading.
1- Admonish the idle: This is good to remember for ourselves to always work hard and do our best at school and home.
2- Encourage the fainthearted: Are we scared or timid to stand up to what is right? We need to help those who are timid to be brave and we need to speak God's truth and stand up to others who are not following what God says.
We should stand up for ourselves and help others by building them up with nice words and actions.
3-Help the weak: We can help the physically weak and we also need to help others by telling them they are important because they are a child of God.
4-Be patient: Sometimes we need to wait, it is good to wait and not be demanding.
Thank you Mr. Debrick for teaching us God's Word.
I look forward to worshipping with you this weekend. It is good to worship as a class in the same service. Thank you for making worship an important part of your families weekend.
Thank you for the prayers for my daughter. He surgery went well and she started therapy Friday. She also went back to school Thursday afternoon. God is good. Please continue to keep her recovery in your prayers.

We painted "WILD THINGS" like Maurice Sendak.
We painted fish for our Red Ribbon door.
We practiced for an earthquake.

We made flashcards for adding 1 facts and them practiced our facts.
I hope your child did the little song about Jesus being with them as a devotion for your family.
We took our first math timed fact test and everyone got done before the timer went off.

We are learning cup stacking in P.E.
It is so much fun.
We love to cheer for our classmates.
We end P.E. with a cheer, "REJOICE, PRAY, GIVE THANKS!"
At phonics we build words using work chunks.
At Alphabet we used beginning sounds and chunks to match words with pictures.
At writing we wrote statements and questions for pictures.
Eric led math meeting. Each day a different student is the STUDENT OF THE DAY and they get to lead Math Meeting and get to take home the math poster for the day.
In math we used a balance scale to see which objects were heavier.
We sorted nouns into person, place, thing or not a noun.
We added words to change a poem.
This week we have studied main idea and details in our reading.
On Friday we began learning about writing a paragraph using a main idea and three details.
We worked at guided writing with Mrs. Bernhardt to make a paragraph.
