 Mr. Maddick led us in chapel this week.  He
told us the story of "The Prodigal Son".  He
graded each person in the story.  Both sons
received a failing grade, the one son failed
because he left his father and wasted his
gifts.  The other son failed because he was not
grateful for the gifts he had.  The father loved
them both and gave them forgiveness.  If we are
honest we deserve a F when we look at our
lives.  But God looks at us through the cross
of Jesus and we are given an A.
An eternity with Jesus
                                          A forgiven heart
                                           A new life

I enjoyed meeting with you during conferences.  I am blessed with parents who look at their child's education as a partnership and I am glad to be partnering with you.

Math Papers:  I have seen many careless mistakes on the math papers.  Please check over the math papers with your child.  Also please grade the fact practices.   Thank you!

If a paper has CAR on it that means to Correct And Return the paper.  The paper should be corrected at home and should be brought back to school and turned in to me.  Thanks

To celebrate being healthy and drug free Student Council has giving us special dress up days:

Please wear regular dress code except when the day warrants a special shirt. 

Monday, October 27: Turn Your Back on Drugs- wear your uniform backwards

Tuesday, October 28: Team Up On Drugs - wear your favorite sports team shirt with uniform bottoms

Wednesday, October 29: Drugs Will Make You Confused- wear mismatched shoes with your uniform

Thursday, October 30: The Choice for Drugs is Black and White- wear a black and white shirt with uniform bottoms

Friday, October 31: Ride the Wave of Drug Prevention - wear sunglasses and flowered leis with your uniform

MUFFINS FOR MOMS  is set for Wednesday morning, November 5^th.  Moms meet in the church basement between 7 and 7:45 AM to enjoy a donut and some coffee or juice with your child(ren).  Everyone is invited to stay for chapel if you can.  What a great time to spend time with the kids before they go off to school!!  

Even though we had a short week it was jam packed with fun and learning.  Take a minute or two to look at the pictures from this week. 

Enjoy the extra days off and the beautiful sunshine God has given us.

Worship Him this weekend.  Come to the children's message at Zion and sing a new song with me!

Jesus washes you clean!!

 We worked a lot on writing this week.  Here we are working on our non-fiction writing.
We wrote a story about an apple on an apple shaped book.

 We made a 10 Commandments poster to help us remember to love God and love others.

 We ordered numbers 0-20.

We read about Christopher Columbus and wrote a fact about him on a ship.

 Mr. Maddick played his guitar and we sang in chapel.

We even did fun actions!

 WE HAD A GREAT CELEBRATION FOR APPLE DAY!!!

We made applesauce.

 We peeled apples.

We cut apples.

We put them in a pot.

We added lemon juice.

We added cinnamon.

We added vanilla.

We added brown sugar.

We added white sugar.

We stirred it up.

We blended the cooked apples to make apple sauce.

 We ate the HOT apple sauce and watched a movie about Johnny Appleseed.

 

We tasted yellow, red, and green apples.

 Red had the most votes.

We made an apple counting book.

We weighed our apples.

We read a story about Johnny Appleseed.

We sequenced a story about Johnny Appleseed.

 We read a story about how an apple can help us learn about the Trinity.

In our free time we worked in our Apple Activity book.

We made apple patterns.

 We measured our apples.

 We made apple shaped poems using apple adjectives.

We wrote a fact about Johnny Appleseed on an apple.

 We then made a mini Johnny Appleseed.

 We read apple books.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL SERVICE FILL HARVEST PARTY!

We planted flowers to welcome people to church.

 

 

We cleaned the stairwells to make God's house look nice.

 We painted cards to be mailed to the shut ins.
We want them to know that God cares for them and so do we.

 We put together coloring bags for children at church so that they will be happy in church.

 We made Thankful Trees to share with our families.

 We ate yummy snacks after all of our hard work.  It feels good to help others.
