GO CARDINALS

BE GLAD IN THE LORD AND REJOICE! Psalm 32:11

This week at Zion we sing the classes favorite liturgy.  The service begins with the song, I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID TO ME LET US GO TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD!  Your child is glad to worship and praise God.  Please give them the opportunity to join with our Christian brothers and sisters and spend time with our God in church.

The first grade classes have the opportunity to help lead church with their voices.  Please remember that we sing
Sunday October 14 at the 8:00 service.  Have your child in the choir room (upper level of the church) by 7:45 to warm up and practice.

-Parent Conference times, your conference times are in the Friday Folder.  Please sign the sheet and return next Monday.  I look forward to meeting with you on Thursday, Oct 18.
-BOOK IT forms, this is a fun incentive to read put out by Pizza Hut, since you are already reading all it will take is a little effort to fill out the form.  The goal for the month is to read 240 minutes.  If your child turns in the completed form with a parent signature he/she will earn a free personal pan pizza.  October's Log Sheet is in the Friday Folder.  ENJOY

You may have notice an adding fact practice sheet come home this week.  We will now be working on addition facts, most nights you will have a fact practice sheet.  Please have your child do the sheet and then you need to grade it and sign on the bottom.  We will now be having fact tests about once a week.  These test are not yet timed, however your child should be able to do the fact sheet in 3 minutes.  If you notice a lot marked wrong on the front page please practice with your child.  You may want to make flash card to help them study.

BLUE BAGS, LEVELED READERS, and BOOKS AT HOME:  Please remember to log your reading with your child on the monthly reading calendar.  It is important for you child to become a successful reader that they are read to and read at home.  Those children who met the goal for September were able to chose a book from my prize book bin.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO COMPLETE THE PAGE FOR THE CLASS BOOK and RETURN ON MONDAY!

May God bless you this weekend.
Enjoy this video of our class praising GOD.

IN HIM,
Amy
