October 18, 2012

This week in Chapel Pastor Rouland shared with us the Bible verse from Matthew19:26-  But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  Pastor then told us about the Lutheran Malaria Initiative.  The LCMS has a goal to eradicate Malaria in Africa by 2015.  This seems impossible as 5 million people in Africa are affected each year and 1 million die.  But with God all things are possible.  $1 can provide medicine for Malaria, $10 will provide mosquito net and training for the family.  The Lutheran Church also provides medical training to village leaders.  What a great opportunity to give life and tell of new life in Christ.  We have adopted this project for our chapel offerings.  Pastor encouraged the children to ask to do extra chores to earn offering money.  $10 seems like so little to us, yet it can provide safe sleeping and a chance to live.  I encourage each child to try and earn $10 by the end of October to give to chapel offerings. (In NOVEMBER our offerings go to provide Thanksgiving turkeys and meals)
