National Lutheran Schools Week
Next week will be filled with special activities that include: hot chocolate, movie and snack, making Valentines with our Eighth grade buddies, 8th grade vs. teachers volleyball game, special guest read aloud, special morning devotion and assembly, and fun dress days.
Don't forget to bring your offering on Wednesday!
We are supporting Globl Kids Network to provide Christian materials for after school care facitlities.
100 CERAL BOXES: We still need 89 empty cereal boxes by January 26. Please send in your empty cereal boxes!!!
All students are expected to attend our singing in church on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 4 at 10:30 am.
Please have your child in the upper music room at 10:15, or right after Sunday School to warm up. Mrs. Kuhlmann and Mrs. Bernhardt will be there to help your child get to the room.

As we look ahead to Lutheran Schools Week I want to share with you why I teach at and why you should be happy your child attends a Lutheran School.

With our offerings we support Future Teachers and Preachers, we have have collected toys for kids with cancer, and we have provided food to seminaries at Thanksgiving.
My students look for other ways to serve each day.
My students are nurtured in sharing their faith and given opportunities to practice witnessing.
We shared Jesus' love with college students.
We share our treasures.
We participate and are a top fundraising school for
AMERICAN HEART CHALLENGE.
Last year our school's donations put us first in St. Charles and third in all of Missouri!
We worship in chapel every Wednesday.

We read the Bible.

We pray.

We are Family. We are claimed and redeemed by Christ. We are brothers and sisters in Him. We learn to work together in His Kingdom. We learn to love one another and forgive one another.
JESUS is what makes us special.
Yes, we are strong in academics. Our schools scores consistently above the 75% on standardized testing and when our students go to Lutheran High (one of the most academic high schools in the St. Louis county with the highest average ACT scores in the county) the teachers at LHS comment on how well prepared Zion students are for upper level classes.
Yes, Zion has awesome music programs and sport programs as well.
And Yes, Zion is a school family. 
My prayer is that your family spends time in worship this weekend. In the back of Zion is our school's art show for National Lutheran Schools!

A look at this short week...
Has your child told you about the card game Sleeping Queens? I had the joy of learning some new card games from my younger cousins. I have purchased some for our classroom and we are learning how to play some new games!
