A Look Ahead...

We SING in Church on this SATURDAY October 7, at 5:00pm!

We sing pre-service so it is important that your

child is there at 4:45.

Please have your child go to the upstairs music room

to warm up. Look for Mrs. Kuhlmann or me to direct you up the stairs, on of us will also be at the top of the stairs to direct your child to the music room. The class will come down for the children's message and will then go and sit with their family for the remainder of the service.

Monday: We will have a fun APPLE DAY and SERVICE PARTY packing college care packages. Thank you for the donations to buy the items for the care packages!

Tuesday: FIELD TRIP TO MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN

INFORMATION FOR FIELD TRIP

We will be outside the whole time so please dress your child accordingly!

Don't Forget...

-Each child will need a carseat. Please send in your child's LABELED carseat on Tuesday.

-Your child should wear his/her field trip shirt, red Zion shirt that was given on the first day of school and uniform bottoms.

-Each child needs a sack lunch as we will be eating near Botanical Garden.

-Due to allergies we ask for no peanut butter or peanuts in your child's lunch.

This is a week where we celebrate being healthy in mind, body, and spirit. Student Council will come in an give us a special presentation.

Monday: Neon Day with uniform bottoms

Wednesday: Crazy Hair with uniforms

Thursday: PJ Day

Friday: Pink/Red Out with uniform bottoms

Avengers Assemble!

On Wednesday October 25, we will be having a special Super Hero Day. In honor of Drew Albrittons’ birthday, we will be wearing Super Hero T-Shirts with jeans or athletic bottoms and collecting superhero items that will be delivered to the superheroes at Friends of Kids with Cancer and they will distribute them to children and their siblings through the pediatric cancer treatment centers in St. Louis at Mercy Kids, St. Louis Children’s, and Cardinal Glennon hospitals. Drew’s family has donated over 3,000 superhero items, in the memory of Drew, to kids battling cancer.

Drew was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus! The Albrittons thank you for your support in avenging pediatric cancer in honor of Drew.

You may bring your superhero items to school anytime by October 25, we will take them over to chapel on Wednesday, October 25. Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts, or any items with a super hero theme are all welcome.

This fundraiser is optional please don't feel like is is to mandatory to participate. Some people have just asked and wanted to sell the pizzas. If you chose to sell pizza the form was sent home on Tuesday.

Look for the Spelling, Writing, and Math Assessments in the Friday Folders each week. Remember the back of the Math Assessment is the PRETEST taking before the unit. It is fun to see the growth!!

I look forward to worship with you on Saturday and hear our first graders sing praises to God.

Thursday Brain Bins

We are close to collecting $200 in class offering. Thank you for teaching your child about the importance of supporting those studying to be professional church workers.

We learned about pollination and then we "pollinated"!

In anticipation of seeing the special Chihuly art exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden we learned about Dale Chihuly and made art inspired by his art.
