 Our school Theme this year is from Colossians 3:17 

Whatever you do in word or deed do everything in the Name of the Lord. 

 God has CHOSEN us to be HIS PEOPLE.  Jesus loves us and gives us special and unique talents that we can use to SHARE HIS LOVE with others.

Your child came home with a special CHOSEN bracelet.  We are going to try to remember to wear our bracelets on WEDNESDAY!  The bracelet reminds us that we are CHOSEN by God.  He loves us and made us special.  He gives us talents to use to SHARE JESUS!!

I hope this will help you talk with your child about what we are doing next week in school.

Please look in your child's Yellow Friday Folder each week  There isn't much work in the  Friday Folder this week. Please send the folder back on MONDAY!! 

Please mark your child's church and sunday school attendance.  You do not have to attend Zion, church any church counts when marking attendance.

We will start practicing writing our names the correct way.  With the first letter capital and the rest lower case.  Also we are learning the correct formation of the letters in our name.  You will see I have marked the names as reminder of the correct way!

Look for a sign up sheet next Friday for Chaperones and Special Helper Days.

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know your child this week and I look forward a terrific year.   This class has done a great job learning our routines and building stamina for difficult tasks.  

Make worship a priority this weekend.

A SNEAK PEAK AT THE FIRST WEEK...

We are a class family!

Pastor Rouland lead our first Chapel.

We were very excited to join the school singing praises to God.

We learned each others names.

We went on missions to learn all about first grade.

We even have security clearance badges.

We drew a self portrait for our class family wall.

We played BUMP in Math.

We started handwriting with the numbers 0 and 1.

We made an art tag.

We learned to turn and talk to a partner.

We read a book about the alphabet.

We played I have Who has with letters.

We found a gem that told us we are CHOSEN.

We looked for gems in playdough.

We put our gems together in a jar and put them on the Devotion Center!

We talked about words that describe Jesus and then we drew Jesus.

We made a liturgical art center in our room with artwork of JESUS.

Mrs. Kuhlmann helped us learn about the RESTROOMS.

We played, Going to the Zoo.

We learned about each other with our All About Me bags.

We are CHOSEN! Devotion Center in our room.

We practiced our first fire drill.

Noelle had her birthday celebration!!  

We had our first STEAM, we learned about Math manipulative we will use this year.

We read Wemberly Worried.  We learned out that Wemberyl found a friend who helped her not be worried. We learned that Jesus is our friend that always is with us and helps us not be worried.
