This week we learned about God protecting Noah and how God's rainbow reminds us of His promise to care and love us. God used the flood to wash the earth; the world was given a new life. God uses His Word and the waters of Baptism to wash our sins away and gives us the gift of eternal life. I am thankful that God is faithful.
Remember God keeps His promises to us!

PLAN AHEAD: We sing in church October 2 at 10:30.
On Friday we have a CatchUp day, to finish center work that didn't get done on the first day. If you are done with your center work you get to do FUN FRIDAY CENTERS!
If your child didn't finish the center work this week it will be in the Friday Folder with the needed center material to complete the center. Please finish the center and send the completed center and the materials back to school on Monday.
This year we are partnering with Bethlehem Lutheran Church to provide for kids in their After School Care. This After School Care serves neighborhood kids free of charge. Our first quarter offerings will go towards buying 60 new winter coats.
Our class has almost collected enough money for 1 winter coat.

It is important that any parent who is chaperoning a field trip have a current background check on file. When I checked the list I noticed that no one in first grade has a background check. You may not know about the need for the background check due to the past Covid restrictions. If you plan on going on any field trip this school year please contact Mrs. Holtz in the office for a background check. THANK YOU!

You are your child’s PFD!!
Pastor Rouland in Confirmation always says at the first class, you are your child’s PFD, Personal Faith Developer. As parents we are given the task of developing our child’s faith. Do not fear you are not alone in this task. The Holy Spirit will help you along with Zion Church and School. You may wonder what a PFD does;
Pastor Rouland gives three responsibilities:
set an example, be authentic, and be faithful.

In STEAM this week we made a plan to build a plant. We then followed our plans and built a plant, complete with roots, a steam, leaves and a flower.
We made cards for the family of James a custodian at Zion we died last week and also for second grade friend Sabrina who broke both of her arms.
We were inspired by Piet Mondrian and created animals in his style of abstract art.
