For God so loved the world
that He gave His only Son
that whoever believes in Him
will not perish but
have eternal life.
John 3:16

The message is simple, God loves us, He sent Jesus to save us, Jesus gives us life eternal.

We had a great day celebrating  the 100th Day of Learning! (even though it was actually the 95th day)
Thank you to Mrs. Petit and Mrs. Horn for being in charge and the countless hours of prep and work!
Thank you also to the parents who volunteered with their time and donations!

What is even better than the 100th day is that we get to celebrate every day the love of Jesus our Savior!!!

As we look ahead to Lutheran Schools Week I want to share with you why I teach at and why you should be happy your child attends a Lutheran School.

This is why ZION is special...
Your child is literally and figuratively surrounded by God's Word.
We go to chapel each week and sit as faith families.
We get to learn about Jesus and build relationships around Christ with students in other grades.

We start each day with an invocation, devotion, and prayer.
We end each day with a closing devotion song and prayer.

Your child is being nurtured spiritually everyday.
My students learn about Jesus and His love in religion each day.
My students are learning to apply God's Word to our lives with Bible Journaling.
My students are given opportunities to serve through our classroom prayer ministry.
With our offerings we support The Ferguson Hope Center, we have have helped kids with cancer, we have provided food and winter coats and hats.

My students look for other ways to serve each day.
My students are nurtured in sharing their faith and given opportunities to practice witnessing
.
We sent college students care packages.
Lent worship centers (coming soon)

Child led family devotions (after Easter)

We are Family.  We are claim and redeem by Christ.  We are brothers and sisters in Him.  We learn to work together in His Kingdom.  We learn to love one another and forgive one another.

JESUS is what makes us special.
Yes, we are strong in academics.  Our schools scores consistently above the 75% on standardized testing and when our students go to Lutheran High (one of the most academic high schools in the St. Louis county with the highest average ACT scores in the county) the teachers at LHS comment on how well prepared Zion students are for upper level classes.
Yes, Zion has awesome music programs and sport programs as well.
And Yes, Zion is a school family.

My prayer is that your family spends time in worship this weekend,
In HIM,
Amy Bernhardt
