Zion Lutheran School Celebrates
The Week of the Young Child
April 16-20, 2018

Early Learning Program through Second Grade Students are invited to celebrate The Week of the Young Child!

If students in Kindergarten through Second Grade decide not to participate,he or she should wear the regular standardized dress.

4/16   Music Monday – Wear Silly Socks and regular uniform top and bottom.
 We will be making musical instruments with the other first grade class, 1T.

4/17    Tasty Tuesday – Wear your favorite Zion Spirit Wear and regular uniform bottom.
Please bring in a baggie of cut fruit to add to our Friendship Fruit Salad

4/18    Work Together Build Together Wednesday –  Dress in your favorite athletic  or sports shirt with regular uniform bottom.
We will do some STEM building activities with 1T

4/19    Artsy Thursday – Wear your favorite color, you could wear a top and bottom of your favorite color or just a top and regular uniform bottom. 
We will be a collaborative art project with the first and second grades

4/20    Family Friday – Pajama Day 
 Share our family poster.  
Please see information sheet in the Homework Folder and send in your family poster by next Friday!

For those who have summer birthdays I usually have one day that we celebrate,  Fun Friday May 11 is when we will celebrate all summer birthdays!  I will provide a treat for all to enjoy!
VBS occurs on June 18-22, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

We spent a lot of time celebrating Easter!

We learned about Eric Carle and texture painting and collage
We texture painted paper, cut it, and glued it to make a butterfly.
A BUTTERFLY is a symbol of NEW LIFE.
We celebrate our NEW LIFE in CHRIST!












We learned about editing and revising our stories.
We love the mystery bag during math meeting.  Gwen shows us what was in the bag.
We made posters that show using er and eat.
We are working on increasing our silent reading time.  We call it Silent Sustained Reading (just like Ramona Quimby) we are up to 11 minutes!

We made Easter candles to use at family devotions.
We are very excited about the Bibles we received.
We practice leading a devotions with each other. 
We learned greater than and less than.
We are working on a non fiction chapter book.

 We continue to share God's love with our offerings.
