April 4, 2014

In the stars that grace the darkness,
In the blazing sun of dawn,
In the light of peace and wisdom,
We can hear your quiet song.
Love that fills the night with wonder,
Love that warms the weary soul,
Love that burst all chains asunder,
Set us free and make us whole.

Joyous Light of Heavenly Glory verse 2

As I look outside at the dark and dreary weather I think about this verse.  Jesus is the Light that has come to shatter all darkness.  As we continue through the dark days of Lent we look with excitement to Easter morning and the forever Light in heaven.

Go CARDINALS!

We did a writing activity on bubble gum. First we  thought of words that describe gum.

Of course you can't describe gum without chewing it.

We practiced blowing bubbles.

Some of us succeeded!

For the First Day of April I made the class brownies.

April Fool's Day
Brown Es

On Tuesday the Concert Choir and Orchestra from Lutheran High School  did a concert for us.

We enjoyed the singing and the instruments.

Moving with the Music

We drew lily pads for our Monet inspired Water Garden.

We used water colors to paint the pond.

We even made a frog to jumping into the Impressionism  Water Garden!

In Science we made a mixture of a solid and a liquid.

Some solids break into smaller pieces in water.

Drinking the mixture was the best part.

We changed the shape and size of a solid by
ripping and cutting it.

Look at our paper mixture!
After a week of achievement books, chewing gum and writing about gum on Friday we did a final gum activity.
We wrote a published copy of our gum paragraph.
We made a construction paper 'me' blowing a bubble.

We mounted our projects on paper to share.

Come to our hallway and see our work. It will blow you away!!!
