Hot Lunch Milk Policy:  If your child gets a hot lunch a milk is included. If your would rather your child have a juice or water please send in a note requesting water or juice.  The child doesn't have to have an allergy to milk, but does need note from a parent.

This year our chapel offerings will go to FRIENDS OF KIDS WITH CANCER.  Friends of Kids with Cancer is devoted to enriching the daily lives of children undergoing treatment for, and survivors of, cancer and blood-related diseases.  Their mission is to be an advocate for these special kids providing them and their families with the educational, emotional, and recreational support needed as a result of the long hours of chemotherapy, illness and isolation.
This is an organization that is near and dear to my heart.  On Tuesdays your child will come home with a chapel offering envelope.  You may return it on Wednesday for chapel.

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know your child this week and I look forward a terrific year.   This class has done a great job problem solving and working on difficult tasks.

Morning Work: Decorating our mask bags
(which have been working great)

I am so proud of the students wearing the masks and helping keep each other safe.

We started Wednesday with Virtual Chapel.  Pastor Reitz shared with us that God's love will never change, never end, and will always be with us!

We learned about how to be first grade learners...

... recess rules...
...mileage club... and three of us already walked/ran 5 miles and earned their first footie!

...morning work...
...and Lunch Rules

We wrote FIRST GRADE RULES!
and talked about the pun, first grade rules (is great) when everyone follows the rules (guidelines).
We read about David and school rules then we brainstormed some good school rules.
We made our own David with paper and crayons.
See the end of this post for pictures of the finished posters.

We read "The Kissing Hand"  and did and activity.  See the end of the post to view our finished work.

We wrote about our summer.
We explored our math tool box and practiced being a Mathematician.

We played 'I Have, Who Has' to review our letters.

We read a great book about being kind.

We painted prayer cards to send to people who we are praying for, you may send in prayer requests and addresses and I will mail the person a card.

We learned about our Science journals.  Today we were asked about if we thought unicorns were real.
Here is a clue.  Ask your child about it.

We discussed what we thought and what we learned about unicorns.

We wrote what we learned in our Science Journal.

I hope you enjoyed the first day picture.

We loved playing with our magic play dough that turned yellow when we squeezed it.  We called it BOBCAT BEE play dough!

We start and end each day with devotions.
We also say the pledges each day.
Mrs. Crumrine comes to us two times a week to teach us music.
We learned more about each other as we shared our ALL ABOUT ME bags.
