I hope you carve some time out of the hustle and bustle of this season to have special Advent devotions with your family.   Help prepare your hearts for Jesus this Advent.  

ADVENT SERVICE: We will lead worship WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 18 at 10 and 7.   We will begin practicing in the church for our service soon.  PLEASE  practice your child's individual part focusing in on loud and slow!

For the  morning service  the class should wear their uniforms and for the evening wear church clothes or uniform, no jeans please.

Please have your child to the church basement on Wednesday night at 6:50.

Christmas Party/Service Project

For our Christmas party on December 20 we will be baking cookies.  

We will mix the cookies in the classroom and then the parents will take them down to the kitchen to bake.  I could use a head adult to come early and set up the room while we are at chapel, and talk with the kitchen staff to learn how to use the ovens.  I also need a parent to go and get the pizzas from Little Ceasar. These are the parents who signed up in the beginning of the year.  ( I like to have 1 adult for 2 kids so we are good)

For the hundredth day of school I will need 100 cereal boxes.  Please save your boxes and send them in to school.

Christmas Service Project

Zion has a tradition of classes doing a service project at Christmas.  This year our class’ service project will be to provide “Christmas” to the children at Bethlehem’s After School Care program.  Zion Church helps Bethlehem Lutheran Church with their After School Care Ministry.  I go with a group of Zion members go to North County every Tuesday to build relationships with 40 school age children through providing dinner, Bible Stories, crafts, and  games.  

Our class will be collecting money to purchase Christmas gifts for each student.  The gifts will be given the students at their Christmas party on December 17.  We hope to buy a $15-$20 gift for each child.  Please send in the Christmas money by December 12.  I will be purchasing gifts for the students after school Thursday December 12.  I invite any parent and child to go with me after school on December 12 to help her purchase the gifts.

We pray for the Albritton family as Elizabeth's mom passed away.  May they feel the HOPE and LOVE of Jesus.

We pray for Gavin as he is baptized this weekend.  WELCOME to the Family Gavin.  May you always know that Jesus came to earth to forgive you and give you new life!

We read about St. Nicholas, a pastor in Myra in 300 AD.  He would throw gold coins into window of the poor.  Many times the gold coins would land in the shoes.  This way St. Nick could help others in secret and share the love of Jesus.

We found a candy gold coin, orange, and nativity stickers in our shoes.
