We have been working on counting dimes, nickels, and pennies.  This is something you could practice at home.

We do go outside at several times during the peak sun hours. If it stops raining,
you may want to put sunscreen on your child in the morning or send some in their book bag to put on before recess.
PAJAMA DAY THURSDAY MAY 16
To celebrate our cafeteria worker, JULIA'S BIRTHDAY we will be wearing pajamas and having a small party open house from 1-1:30.  Wear your PJs to school and help Julia celebrate!!

On Friday, May 17th, students in grades 1-8 will participate in a “Faith Family Field Day”.  We will eat a picnic lunch, play games, and have one last fun time with our Faith Families!

Zion will be providing cheese pizza from Domino's, goldfish and water for the picnic lunch.  If your child does not want that lunch or is unable to eat that lunch due to allergies, please have your child bring a cold lunch on Friday, May 17th.

Your child will also be spending the afternoon out in the sun, so please apply sunscreen in the morning before your child comes to school.

This will also be a SPECIAL SPIRIT DAY your child may wear a Zion/LHS t-shirt and non uniform bottoms!

To help prevent the summer academic slide... I will be having a summer reading camp.  This camp will focus on maintaining on grade level reading and writing. Each session will include reading, writing, and an activity. It will be held on Tuesdays in the mornings.  I like to keep the sessions small.

I plan on having two sessions, 9-10:15 and 10:30-11:45. The sessions will be on June 18, July 2, July 16, July 23, and July 30.

You may sign up for some or all of the weeks. The cost will be $15.00 a week.  If you are interested and would like to sign up please go to the google doc form and put your name on the time and date you would like to attend.

All Library books are due Friday May 10.
If you lost the book email me and I will forward the information to the library to find out the cost to replace the book.
