January 25, 2019

As we look ahead to Lutheran Schools Week I want to share with you why I teach at and why you should be happy your child attends a Lutheran School.
This is why ZION is special...
Your child is literally and figurative surround by God's Word.
We go to chapel each week and sit as faith families.
We get to learn about Jesus and build relationships with students in other grades.
We start each day with an invocation, devotion, and prayer.
We end each day with a closing devotion song and prayer.

Your child is being nurtured spiritually everyday.
My students learn about Jesus and His love in religion each day.
My students are learning to apply God's Word to our lives with Bible Journaling.

My students given opportunities to serve through our classroom prayer ministry...

and with our offering we support Angie Steinbacher and her mission work, we have help kids with cancer, and we have provided food.
My students look for other ways to serve each day.
We just went around and cleaned door frames!
My students are nurtured in sharing their faith and given opportunities to practice witnessing
Red-because love matters
Diamond- because God does amazing things
under heat and pressure
.

Lent worship centers (coming soon)
Child led family devotions (after Easter)
Sending college care packages
We are Family.  We are claim and redeem by Christ.  We are brothers and sisters in Him.  We learn to work together in His Kingdom.  We learn to love one another and forgive one another.

JESUS is what makes us special.  Yes, we are strong in academics.  Our schools scores consistently above the 75% on standardized testing and when our students go to Lutheran High (one of the most academic high schools in the St. Louis county with the highest average ACT scores in the county) the teachers at LHS comment on how well prepared Zion students are for upper level classes.
Yes, Zion has awesome music programs and sport programs as well. And Yes, Zion is a school family.
