We sing in church: October 7 at the 10:30 service, please meet in the upper music room in the balcony of church at 10:20 to warm up.

Field Trip to the Botanical Garden Wednesday, October 17, 2017
Look for the permission slip next week.  The list of chaperones is: Heather Horn, Bethany Coad, Kristen Johnson, Julie Gaffney, and Amber Maddick.  We will leave at 8:15 and return at 2:45.  If you are unable to attend please let me know. Thank you!

We have had many sick kids this year.  
Please remember to email me and let me 
know if your child will be absent.
Also please let me know if you want to pick up the home in the office or have it send home with another student.



Please read the fluency books 4 times during the week.  These books should be easy to read.  Have your child practice reading the way they talk, using expression, and paying attention to the punctuation.  By the end of the week this book should be read fluently.  

PLEASE SEND THE BOOK BACK ON MONDAY!!! 
I tell the kids just keep it in the red folder.

SIGN UP FOR TRUNK OR TREAT
The late fee goes into effect on Monday, October 1 for Trunk or Treat. Please bring candy to the school office if they aren't going to have a car in the parking lot that night. 

Only a few days left to register for the Bobcat Shuffle and get the shirt! The last day to sign up and receive your shirt is Monday, October 1st. 
The classroom with the most students registered by 10/1 will win a Donut Party with their class! 
You DONuT want to miss out!

Mileage Club Information from Mrs. Steinbacher  
Many of our 1st – 4th grade students have been participating in the Mileage Club during their lunch recesses. The Mileage club is a program where students earn a “footie” when they complete 21 laps (about 3 miles) on our cemetery path. The reward varies based on how many cards each participant has completed as follows:

Finish Card #1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9=Front Row Footie
Finish Card #5=Silver Footie and name on the chart
                        Participant may be in the Mileage Club Yearbook Picture
Finish Card #10= Gold Footie
Finish Card #11 and higher= Clear Footie
Finish Card #15= Glow in the Dark Footie
Finish Card #17= Clear Footie, Supersize Footie, and #50 for 50 miles completed
                        Participant receives a certificate at Zion’s closing chapel.
Finish Card #25=Clear Footie and #75 for 75 miles completed
Finish Card # 34=Clear Footie, Supersize Footie, and #100 for 100 miles completed

TWENTY-TWO of our students have already earned their SILVER FOOTIES and ONE student has earned his GOLD FOOTIE.

We learned about US Symbols and what they stand for then we practiced drawing US symbols. Then we looked at art by Peter Max.  He works with digital art.  We also added a digital element to our artwork.
