We had a wonderful week celebrating Zion Lutheran School as well as all Lutheran Schools across the world.

I am seeing too many CAR math papers.  Please look over and help your child find the math mistakes. Please correct CAR papers and return them on Monday.

I am working on following directions.  Please note that I am helping the children become more independent and I will sometimes have a following direction point on assessments.

In the Friday Folder I am including a coupon from Scholastic Books.  Feel free to go to the website and order books using the coupon.  I will place the orders on February 11.

Dates to Remember:
Wednesday February 3 is a half day for the students. 

VALENTINES CELEBRATION FEBRUARY 11:  We will be making our valentine boxes here AT SCHOOL.  Each child may bring Valentines to hand out.  Please include a Valentine for each child in our class.  PLEASE NO CANDY!  This year we are asking that you DO NOT send candy to school with the Valentines.  Our party will be on February 11

SIX FLAGS READING PROGRAM:  We are participating in the Six Flags Reading Program.  Don't forget READING LOGS will be DUE FEBRUARY 26YOU MAY TURN THEM IN WHEN YOU GET FINISHED.

GRANDPARENTS DAY - Save the Date: We invited all Grandparents or special adult friend to attend school on March 11, from 8-12.  More information and invitation to come!

On Thursday we showed our SCHOOL SPIRIT!!
WE LOVE ZION!!!












We made posters for the volleyball game.

 We cheered at the Volleyball game, the teachers won 2 games and the 8th graders won 1.
On Friday Mr. Braddy's class came for a visit and we did an art project together, read to them our books, and enjoyed a caprison.










 After Reading the book, The Dot, here is our dot!



We learned about Guatemala missionaries with an online mission trip.


And we even did some learning...

We made maps in Social Studies.


 We are learning 2 digit addition by buying items at our class store.




 We are making planet books as we learn about outer space.

 We are working with partners to learn our spelling sight words.
 We are learning about non fiction books and finding facts in the books.

 
We are continuing our study of the artist Wassily Kandinsky and are making concentric circles art.



 Of course we had centers this week.



We are having fun raising money and collecting dogs.
 Puzzles for Fun Friday...


 We did an Author Museum and got to read our classmates stories.  We even got to write comments about the stories.
