We have been learning about prayer and the class has made a video to show you a PATH prayer. Watch the video and try a PATH prayer with your family.

A LOOK AHEAD:
Next week is a short week. Don't forget we are dismissed at 12:00 on Wednesday
Memory: Working in class on Advent songs
Religion: Solomon Build the Temple
Spelling: none
Grammar: finish past tense verbs
Math: counting money and symmetry
Social Studies: The First Thanksgiving
Reading: We will be doing guided writing activities
Centers: with the short week we will have some "fun" educational games centers this week
NEW SPELLING WORDS ADDED: Starting after Thanksgiving we will be have 3 bonus words each week in Spelling. These words will follow the pattern we are learning. A good way to study spelling is to build word families with your child. For example this week we had the word late ask your child if they can make other words with the -ate chunk...gate, mate, grate, fate, rate...
I am looking for the students to learn the pattern not just memorize the spelling words.
FYI after Christmas there will be 5 bonus words.
It seems we have been having a lot of REDOs at center time. If a student does not master the concept at a center I will make them redo the center. If you see a lot of REDOs on your child's papers please talk to them about taking their time at centers.
We have begun using ipods to help us in centers. We will use the ipods as well as the classroom computers to aid our learning.
We had a great time at helping to break the Guinness Book of World Record for students Cup Stacking on one day. Please look at the pictures.
We have collected enough money for 27 turkeys and enough food was brought in to make up 30 Thanksgiving baskets. Next Wednesday's offerings will also go towards paying for turkeys and other needed items for Zion's and Seminary's food pantries. What a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving and to share God's love.
God's Blessings to Ava Brickner! Ava will be baptized this weekend at Zion's 11:00 service.
We celebrate as God calls you His own, forgives your sins, and gives you a new life.
I will have a post next week, look for it on Tuesday!
May Christ be given priority in your weekend as you make time for worship.
IN HIM,
Amy
