September 21, 2018

In Religion we learned about Jacob and how he lied to get his father's blessing.  We learned that Jacob repented and God forgave him and still loved him and took care of him.
 God turned his heart around.
Repent means to turn around.  We too have a heart full of sin, yet God loves us, forgives us, and takes care of us.  We can turn our hearts around by repenting our sins.  God is faithful and just and He will forgive our sins and fill our hearts with Jesus.

Joseph was down and out.  His brothers wanted to kill him, instead they sold him into slavery.  He was in a foreign land as a slave alone.  Then he was wrongly accused and thrown into jail.  Things were bad.  We know that God used Joseph to save the people from the famine.  Joseph forgave his brothers and reunited his family.  What a wonderful God who works all things for good.

A sneak peek at our week...

I hope you saw our Coats of Many Colors.

We played many games with our sight words these week.  Remember if your child didn't finish all the first quarter words please practice them at home.  I will retest the first week in October.

We ordered numbers 0-20.

We learned about school helpers and then made riddles for each helper.

We shared our first small moments story with our friends.
We love to watch "Mystery Doug" Science videos.  Students ask questions , then we get to write or draw what we think the answer is and finally Doug shows and tells us the answer.  This week the question was: "Why do we sweat?"

We learned about dividing things in half.

We learned numbers between.

In Guided Reading we read a new book each day, answer questions, and do a word work activity.
