As the end of the year draws closer ASC and PDO would like to ask for your help supplying used art supplies.  We are looking for markers, crayons, glue bottles/sticks,  and watercolor paint sets. Our little ones in PDO do not care what color the marker is or if there is a missing color in the watercolor pallet. So any donations would be appreciated.

Thank you ,
The PDO teachers

If you want your child's art supplies email me and I will send them home. If I don't hear from you I will donate the supplies.

Your children are very passionate about praying; I have talked to them about taking home the church’s prayer requests and continuing to pray for those in need.  Please keep Natalia in your prayers as she has treatments this summer.
Please help them maintain an active prayer and worship life this summer.  Remember to take advantage of the various services that Zion offers.
Saturday at 5:00, Sunday at 8 and 10:30 and Monday at 7:00.

Mrs. Helm emailed me a prayer guide for their mission trip to China, please keep them in your prayers:
East Asia Summer 2016 Prayer Guide
-Stefan and Beth Helm with Cru

In-Country briefing and Week 1 (May 17 – 28)
Pray for us to acclimate well to the culture and for our students to be discerning as they learn and experience a new place. We will be meeting hundreds of students on six campuses this week.  Please pray for boldness and endurance as we initiate with tons of new friends to start our summer.
Week 2 (May 29 – June 4)
Pray for the Evangelistic parties we plan to have Friday, June 3rd.  Because of security concerns
currently, they aren’t sure we are going to be able to use this strategy.  Please pray that we will be
able to have these parties and that many students would hear the Gospel this week.

Week 3 (June 5 – 11)
This is the week we will challenge our students to be constantly sharing their faith.
Pray that God prepares East Asian students’ hearts to be open to the Gospel and that
they would see Jesus for who He truly is.

Week 4 (June 12 – 18)
Pray for endurance for our students. Many of them may begin to be a little homesick and tired of certain realities in Asia.  Pray that the challenge they face would refine their character and that the Holy Spirit
will lead them and guide them as they continue to serve.

Week 5 (June 19-26)
Pray for East Asian students who have decided they want to follow Jesus.  Pray that we would have
wisdom to follow them up well, get them connected with the underground church, and that they would
not be swayed away from following Jesus by their culture or worldly things.

Weeks 6 & 7 (June 27 – July 5)
Pray that we would connect our new friends well with the long-term team in the city.
Pray that our students would process well what God has done in their lives this summer.

Throughout the summer:  Please pray that Jeremiah and Titus would adjust to the culture well, enjoy the summer, stay safe, and not threaten the security of our mission.

We have learned a lot this year.
I encourage you to join the Summer Reading Program
at the library!  It is a great incentive to keep reading.
If you would like to do a little more...
I am doing tutoring this summer.
I will tutor on Tuesdays.
I will have a group session from 9-10:15 and 10:30-11:45
At this session I will focus on maintaining levels.
We will work on Reading and Writing.
If you are interested email me.
I will be sending out an email to those who have contacted me with specifics on MONDAY.

I hope you enjoyed the end of the year art frame.  I made a mistake on the picture and will be sending home a new picture next week.  Please put the new picture in the frame on top of the old one.  Thanks!

I am so thankful to God for this school year.  It has been a joy to share your children this year.  I have seen them grow so much and feel blessed that I was given the opportunity to teach them.  This is a class full of so many talented and unique personalities.  Thank you for partnering with me this year.  I feel that your children and you have become part of my family.  I will keep you in my heart and prayers.  I am truly blessed and love coming to school everyday.  To God all praise and glory.

Blessed to Serve,
Amy Bernhardt

A sneak peek at our week...
THIS IS FAMILY,
THIS IS ZION
You may not know Julia, she works in our cafeteria cleaning the trays. She is always quick with a smile and a kind complement.  She loves her job and the teachers and students who talk to her each day.  Julia's birthday is in June and we decided to celebrate early by giving her balloons, she loves balloons, and cards!

Pastor Hoehner talked to us about praising God and His majesty.

The fourth graders played their recorders for us.

Happy Birthday Maddy.
Happy Birthday Grace!

Happy Summer Birthdays Collin and JJ!
We changed the states of matter in our science experiment.

We learned about Timothy.

We continue to work on our math facts and concepts.
We watched the Spelling Bee.

We finished our paper lanterns .
We wrote a letter to ourselves to be mailed when we graduate eighth grade.
Principal Roos paid us a visit.
 Family Traditions
We finished our family tradition posters in Social Studies.

We read Shel Silverstein's Poem OUCH!
Then we made our own poems.
