October 2, 2015

This we talked about the 10 commandments.  We should not see these as a punishment from God.  Instead we should trust in Him and know that He wants us to be happy and God has given us a guide to follow.  Thank God for His commandments and Thank Him for sending His Son to forgive us when we don't follow His guide for us!  This week's memory sums up the 10 commandments:

HELPERS NEEDED:
I could still us some helpers on Tuesday, October 13 from 9-11:30 to help run our APPLE DAY.

We could also us a few helpers on Wednesday  October 14 from 1:30-3 for the HARVEST PARTY.

WE SING OCTOBER 25 at 10:30 in church.  Please plan on attending.  Children will need to be in the upper choir room at 10:15 or right after Sunday School.  Thank you
Please remember reading 15 or more minutes 4 nights a week is part of the student's homework.
Please initial in the box for each day that your child reads.
Studies show reading is one of the best ways to improve your child's learning!

 This week in Chapel Mrs. Stuhr told us about friends.  We learned that Jesus is our BEST friend.  He loves us, takes care of us, and gave His life for us so that we could live.  Spend time with your BEST friend this weekend.

Join us at Zion for our Celebration Sunday, services Saturday 5:00pm, Sunday 8:00 and 10:30 am.  There is no Sunday School or Bible Class due to the special Celebration Sunday Ministry Fair.

The Third Graders had a lemonade stand to raise money for the Clausing Family as they leave to be missionaries in Africa.  I am excited to tell you that $1007 was collected, and over 60 gallons was consumed.  We are BLESSED TO SERVE!!!



We were excited to get our own flashcards and practice with each other.
We drew monsters like Maurice Sendak.

We used monster fingers to help us track our words.

We sorted short a and short i.
We used stickers to help us learn our spelling.
We put words in alphabetical order.
We wrote stories about what we do during the week.
We made different number sentences with the sum of 5.

We sorted asking and telling sentences.
We worked on sequencing our stories.
