This week we learned about Martin Luther. We learned that the Holy Spirit made him bold to tell the truth about God. He told others what the Bible tells us about God. Martin Luther wrote 95 true statement, thesis, about God. He nailed them to the church door on October 31, 1517. He wanted everyone to read and know the truth about God. In First Grade we pray that God makes us bold to tell others the truth about God. I had the class write down true statements about God. Check out their 'thesis' in the pictures at the end of the blog.

Wednesday, Nov. 18- THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: It is our tradition to collect food at Thanksgiving to provide to the Seminarian students. Student Council has decided to try something new and assign specific food items for each grade in order to receive enough items of each kind. Please start collecting these food items, we will of course accept all food and household donations.
Our goal is to pack 20 Thanksgiving dinner boxes as well as stock the Seminary Food Bank (food, bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.).

Don't forget to check and sign the math homework. I stressed to the class that they should not sign the papers. The papers need to be signed by an adult or older sibling. |

Check the Friday Folder for the words your child needs to study this quarter. If you didn't get a sheet your child passed the pretest. I will retest the week after Thanksgiving. |

This year we will once again be able to participate in "World Sport Stacking Day" on Thursday, Nov. 12. On that day people all over the world will be sport stacking and we will try to set a new world record for the most people sport stacking on one day in multiple locations. This will be a nice culmination of the sport stacking unit Mrs. Steinbacher needs parents to help her on that day. Please email her if you can help. She will let you know that times. Our class time is 9:30-10:10
Mr. Debrick shared with us in Chapel to the bible verse: Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
What is the noise in your life that keeps you from hearing God?
What activities keep you from taking time to be still?
Take time this busy and loud weekend to go to church and be still and hear that God is God.
I am doing the Children's Message at Zion, have your child come see me!
Blessed to Serve,
Amy Bernhardt

WE CAN TELL THE STORY OF MARTIN LUTHER
Luther was baptized but his parent did not tell him of God's love. |
Luther was caught in a storm and prayed to be saved. |
Luther studied to be a monk, there he found a Bible chained to a table. When he read it he learned the truth about God. |
Luther read that Jesus died to forgive sins and heaven is God's gift won by Jesus. |
Luther wrote 95 True Statements about God and put the thesis on the Church door for all to see. |
Leaders told Luther to take back what he said, He said I am only speaking the truth from the Bible. He went to hid in a castle. |
While in the castle Luther translated the Bible to German so that all could read the truth about God. |
We can be bold like Luther and share the truth of God's love with others. |
Happy Reformation Day! |
We wrote true statements about God just like Martin Luther. |
