November 11, 2016

This week was our second faith family event.   The  Chapel started out with a litany and a song, we then left the church with our faith family to have a family devotion and work on a service project.  The devotion focused on being thankful.  We are thankful for things we can see and touch like food, family, and clothing.  We also need to be grateful for things we can’t touch or see like our freedom.  We talked about those who serve our country in the military.  We then made Christmas cards that will be sent to servicemen around the world.  We returned to Chapel and celebrated baptismal birthdays and sang our theme song.  This is such a fun time to build relationships with other students centered around Christ.

I forgot to give out the offering envelopes on Monday.
Please send offerings Wednesday to help purchase turkeys.

For your chapel offering please bring stuffing and potatoes for Seminarian’s Thanksgiving Baskets or other food bank items and toiletry, household or paper product will be accepted.Chapel offering money will be used to purchase turkeys. Seminarians are from all over the United States and some do not get to go home for Thanksgiving.  We can help them have a great holiday dinner by donating from the many blessings God has given us!

Please study your child's sight words.  I pretested them and the sheet is in the Friday Folder.  I will retest in a month.

We learned about David and Goliath this week.  We learned that God helped David and God helps us, too.  Take time this weekend to WORSHIP our GREAT, MIGHTY, and STRONG GOD!! I am doing the children's message and first graders can come sit by me to help with the actions and the song!

Mr. Debrick read us a Thanksgiving story for BOOK IT PRINCIPALS READ ALOUD DAY.

We practiced our 'MONSTER' SIGHT WORDS.

We worked with Mrs. Hoehner's Preschoolers and taught them about turkeys and patterns.

We used the book about the pigeon to learn about exclamation sentences.

We made exclamation sentences like the book.

We wrote the sentences on speech bubbles.

We are learning new math facts, adding 1 and adding 0.

 IN SCIENCE WE ARE LEARNING ABOUT ANIMALS

We were classification specialists and classified animals into groups.

We then presented to the other scientists how we classified the animals.

 We made a scene for David and Goliath!  Each group made a different part for the story.  Watch for the giant scene in next week's blog!
