WE SING THIS SUNDAY! OCTOBER 25 at 10:30 in church.  Please plan on attending.  Children will need to be in the upper choir room at 10:15 or right after Sunday School.  You may pick your child up after church in the  Welcome Center (back of church) Thank you.

To celebrate being healthy and drug free Student Council has giving us special dress up days:
Please wear regular dress code except when the day warrants a special shirt. 

Monday, October 26 - Stay "PAWS"atively Drug Free- Wear a Zion spirit shirt and dress bottoms

Tuesday, October 27 -Hats Off the Red Ribbon Week - Wear a hat to school with school uniform

Wednesday, October 28 - Don't get TIED up with Drugs - Wear a tie  with school uniform

Thursday, October 29 - Stay in the Game and Be Drug Free - Wear favorite sports team shirt with uniform bottoms 

Friday, October 30- Follow Your Dreams- Bring a stuffed animal or pillow to school wear school uniform

Thank you for all your prayers for my daughter Grace. Her surgery went well and she is on the  long road to recovery.   Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to recover and go to physical therapy.  She is looking at 6 weeks non weight bearing on crutches and 4-6 months to get back to regular activities.

I look forward to worshipping together this weekend.  See you Sunday at the 10:30 service.

FALL SERVICE PROJECT

For our fall party this year our class did a service project and you will need to do the final step at home.  Thanks to a generous grant from Thrivent Financial we were able to purchase food and snacks to put together Blessing Bags to give out to those in need.  
This is were you get to help out, your child came home with two bags.  Please keep them in your car and hand them out when you see  the opportunity of people asking for food or money.

My middle daughter, Grace, is having hip surgery on Tuesday, October 20.
She has a labrial tear in her hip and it is being repaired.
Please pray for her and the  surgeons and nurses, please pray for a successful surgery,
and a smooth recovery. (it is a 6 month recovery)
I will be out Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.
Mrs. Heather Masa will be my sub.
November 4 is an early release day for teacher inservice.
School will be dismissed at 12:00.
If your child needs child care please fill out the form in the Friday Folder and return by October 30.

I have included many book orders in the Friday Folder.
I will place the order on Friday October 23 at 3:00pm.
If you ever buy books as a gift for your child just email me and I will get them to you without your child knowing.

A reminder our chapel offerings for October will go to support the Clausing Family and their mission work in Africa.  In November our offerings will by turkeys and we will have a food drive to support the Seminary Students. In December we will focus our offerings on a class service project.

Even though we had a short week it was jam packed with fun and learning.  Take a minute or two to look at the pictures from this week. 

Enjoy the extra days off and the beautiful weather God has given us.

A PEEK AT OUR APPLE WEEK...

 Thanks to a great garage sale find we have new book buddies!


We learned about how the Trinity is like an apple.
Then we made an apple craft.

 




 We used an apple, corer. slicer to cut our apples for the apple butter.
 


We liked making and tasting apple butter.
We tasted 3 different kinds of apples.
We voted on our favorite.  Red and green tied.
We made apple tree math books.

We read a book about Johnny Appleseed and then sequenced the events.

We listed apple words 



 We made an apple tree with apple words.


We did an apple word search.

We measured our apples.


We described our apples.

We did an apple word hunt.

We dissected our apples.



We read and wrote about Johnny Appleseed.  We even made him out of construction paper.

We packed up bags for to share with the less fortunate.








We made cards for those for whom we are praying.

We made notes to go in our Blessings Bags.





We even played a little BINGO.
