GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING HERE AT ZION!!

This Tuesday we celebrated the Ground Breaking for our new classrooms and commons.
We asked God to bless this where we are about to build
for the nurture and upbringing of His children.

The First Bobcat Shuffle is this Saturday.  We hope that this fundraiser is easier for families and is a fun way to raise funds!

Parent Conferences take place Thursday night and Friday.  This is a great opportunity to hear about strengths and areas for you child to improve.  I look forward to meeting with you.

This week in Religion we talked about the Israelites taking 12 stones to built a monument.  When future generations saw the monument it gaves an opportunity to tell the next generation what God has done for them.

Our Stone Monument

Take time this weekend to tell you children and family your personal story of Jesus.
Tell them what God has done for you.  Then go to church as a family to praise and thank God for all He has done and what he continues to do for you everyday!

At the inside ground breaking

We all got to participate and scoop up some dirt.

The dirt is going to be used to make a piece of art work for the new school.

When we see the dirt art work we can say we helped scoop the dirt...

...and we can remember what God has done for us at Zion.

These teachers all went and graduated from Zion.

Katelyn's whole family has attended Zion!

Happy Boss' Day Mr. Debrick

NEXT WEEKS STARTS SECOND QUARTER
-Please check your child's math papers carefully, there have been many correct and returns lately.  You child may need help reading the directions, and you should look over the work.  Please remember to grade your child's fact practice and sign your name.

- On the Spelling test you may have notice PATTERN WORDS at the bottom.  These are 2 of the words the class found that have the week's pattern.  These words have been just for practice in the 1st quarter, now that it is 2nd quarter these words are going to be graded.  How do you study for these words?  Ask you child to build other words that have the weekly chunk.  Help them build chunks... if the chunk is -op then think of words like: pop, stop, hop, mop, top, glop, slop. cop...

- Please read the leveled readers (the paper books sent home at the beginning of the week) several times a week.  Let me know that your child has read the book by putting your initials in the box on the reading log.  PLEASE SEND the BOOKS BACK ON FRIDAYS.  I spend a lot time running off the books and I would appreciate if the books came back so that I can use them again!

-Your child has a new memory sheet in their homework folder.

Please remember to be the spiritual leader in your house, show that God is important to you and your family, take time to thank God, give Him your time this weekend and take your child to church!
