Hark the glad sound,

The Savior comes,

The Savior promised long,

Let every hear prepare a throne

And every voice a song!

1st/2nd Grade Advent Service
We have started working on our Advent Service. We are learning our special Bible verse part and songs.

-Our Advent services will be Wednesday, December 18.
-The students will be leading the Advent chapel during school at 10 am and they will need to wear their normal standardized dress.
-Students will also be leading the church service at the 7 pm service that evening.  Please have your child arrive at 6:45 p.m. in the church basement. Teachers will not be in the church basement until this time, so please stay with your child until a teacher arrives. Students will need to be wearing standardized dress or church clothes.   Please keep your child's coat and belongings with you because after the service you will be meeting your child in the narthex/welcome center area near the sanctuary.
-Your child will need to be in attendance at both services; parents and family are welcome to come to either service.

We will be having our class party Friday at 9:30 am.
Thank you to parent helpers.  We will be having different stations that will be run by our helper parents.

We will be making Blessing Bags for the residents at the retirement home across the street.  We will also be  playing games, making a snack and craft and eating pizza, oranges and sugar cone Christmas trees!  If you child doesn't want or can't eat pizza feel free to send them a cold lunch.
100 CERAL BOXES:  We will need 100 empty cereal boxes by January 20.  Please send in your empty cereal boxes!!!

Advent is such a fun time. I really enjoy preparing for Jesus coming with my first graders. Ask your child about some of the special things in our classroom!

Have a wonderful weekend, I hope your family is able to find some time prepare your hearts for Jesus this Advent with family devotions. Don't forget to light the SECOND Advent candle on Sunday!
