Lent begins next week on March 6 with Ash Wednesday. Lent is my favorite time of the church year. I like the Wednesday after school church services, and I have to admit I also like the meals following. During Lent I try to recommit myself to personal devotions and prayer. This is a time to focus on Jesus and His great love for us. Jesus gave His life so that I can live.

For it is by GRACE you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

There is nothing I can do to gain forgiveness and eternal life it is God's gift through Jesus! So instead of giving something up for Lent try doing the opposite and adding something ... maybe commit to Wednesday night church, attend Sunday Bible Classes, do personal devotions, do family devotions, or make weekend worship a priority in your family. I know your faith life will be strengthened.

Join us in Lent worship each Wednesday at 3:30 and 7:00. Stay late or come early for dinner.

LENT WORSHIP CENTERS: Monday we will be making a worship center for your home to help you will Lent Devotions. This will come home on Tuesday with a Devotion Booklet. The cross can be used like an advent wreath, but you light all candles on the first week and light one less each week as we move closer to Good Friday. Lent begins on Wednesday so you will light the candles and light one less on Wednesdays. I hope this helps your family focus your thoughts to Christ this Lent. Thank you to my husband for cutting out the crosses for us.

Due to the Book Fair, we will be eating lunch in our room Wednesday and Thursday.
Hot lunch and milk will still be available.
PLEASE NO PEANUT BUTTER OR PEANUT PRODUCTS on those days.
