Wednesday, Nov. 18-  THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: First Grade has been asked to bring in stuffing.  Although any food donation will be accepted.  Our offerings for the month of November will go to buy the turkeys.   Our class has already brought in enough chapel offering to buy 2 turkeys! What a great way to help support those who spread the Good News.

ZION'S AUCTION :
ROUND UP CONTEST NOVEMBER 9-13, 2015
It’s auction time! Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Zion Lutheran School Auction, to be held at Old Hickory Golf Club on April 15, 2016. In preparation, the Auction Round Up will be held from November 9th - 13th. During this week, families can bring in items to be donated before school. At the end of the week, the two classes that donate the highest dollar value will enjoy an hour of class time in the gym with Mrs. Steinbacher and/or Mr. Marolf. The money raised this year will be used to support the future of Zion. Reaching our goal depends on the generosity of Zion friends and family. Please consider making a donation to this year’s auction. Donations can take many forms – whether it’s the donation of a service, an item or themed basket for the auction, or if you’d like, a monetary donation. All monetary donations will be compiled and a team of Black Friday Shoppers will purchase items for you.  The auction team can always use more volunteers so please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
Thank you in advance for your support in making this event a success. If you have any questions please contact Gina Powley, Nicole Wood, Melissa Roos, or Whitney Brickner
Our class has enjoyed the cup stacking unit in P.E.  There is a flyer in the Friday Folders that gives information about buying cup stacking games for home.  This maybe the perfect Christmas gift!

Look for this book in the Friday Folder and save it to help you study for the Science test.
If you haven't done the Milestone for First Grade you can still sign up, please email Arianne Stuhr at astuhr@zionharvester.org.  This is a one time class for first graders and it will help you and your child on their faith journey.

The class earned a musical party in music class.  On TUESDAY,  November 10, the first graders may bring in any instrument they may have at home to share with the class.

We continue to work on the rhythm of church, standing and sitting when the congregation does.  It helps if you remind your child of this while in church.  We also have learned many of the church liturgies and songs.  Remind your child to look in the bulletin or on the screen to follow along and participate.  Thank you for taking your child to worship together with God's family.

Blessed to Serve,
Amy Bernhardt
At Shared Reading Brian helped read the book.
We made prayer journals to use at home.

We learned how to mix colors to go from light to dark.
 MUFFINS WITH MOMS

We already have given enough money for 2 turkeys.

We worked on Main Idea and Details this week with non-fiction texts.

Together we came up with the main idea and then 8 details from our story.

Happy Baptismal Birthday Alana!

We learned about what animals eat and how God gave them special teeth to help them eat the food.

 Check out our animal teeth!

Thank you Mrs. Horton our VIP Reader!
