Let's WIN the DONUTS!

As some of you may know, my family and I volunteer each Tuesday at Bethlehem's After Care Program. These are some of the kids that will benefit from the book donations!

Our Faith Family groups are doing an all school service project!
Starting Monday, we will begin collecting gently used books to donate to children at Bethlehem Lutheran Childcare in St. Louis and to Friends of the St. Charles Library. If you have books at home that you no longer read, you can bring them in so that other children can enjoy them too!
Bethlehem has started a a micro school third-fifth grade 2 years ago. This year they added childcare (6 weeks-3 years), preschool and Kindergarten, and next year they will be adding first and second grade. Let’s help them fill their school library with great books!
In Faith Family Time we made bookmarks to put in the donated books.

On Wednesday, May 14 we will celebrate Julia's Birthday with a Purple Hang Out Party.  Julia is one of the school's lunch helpers.  We can wear any appropriate PURPLE shirts with uniform bottoms.  Classes will be giving her birthday wishes during a small open house.  Our class will be making cards for Julia! If you want to send in a card or something little you may, she loves Thomas the Train, OREOs. M&Ms, Hershey bars, balloons, and the color purple.

On Thursday May 15th, students are invited to dress like a church worker—but we’re adding a special twist! We would like to celebrate Mr. Debrick by all dressing like him that day!

Shhhhhhhhh!!  Don't forget it's a surprise!

The First- Third Grade musical Tuesday, May 20

Our 1st-3rd grade musical will be Tuesday May 20 at 2:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Zion Sanctuary.

A special t-shirt will be worn with uniform bottoms for both performances as the costume.

I will keep the t-shirts after the 2:15 performance so just have your child come to the 6 p.m. performance wearing any light colored collarless shirt and a uniform skirt or shorts and they will wear the special t-shirt over the other shirt.

The 2:15 p.m. performance is a dress rehearsal for Zion students but families are welcome to attend.

On Tuesday May 20 please have your child be in the church basement at 5:45.

Our class will be singing on the right side of the church.
Thank you so much for the gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week!
I feel very appreciated and loved!

He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young.
Isaiah 40: 11

I hope you are enjoying having your first grader lead devotions.
Remember to snap a picture and email it to me for our bulletin board.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Amy

Did you know that each day we have one "LUCKY DUCK" and that person receives a special gift.  For the last gift the kids get a ball because first grade was such a BALL!
