Next week is a fun week to celebrate what makes Zion special and unique.  Yes, we are strong in academics.  Our schools scores consistently above the 75% on standardized testing and when our students go to Lutheran High (one of the most academic high schools in the St. Louis county with the highest average ACT scores in the county) the teachers at LHS comment on how well prepared Zion students are for upper level classes.  Yes, Zion has awesome music programs and sport programs as well.  Yes, Zion has teachers who are love Jesus and their students.  Yes, Zion teachers are dedicated and continue to passionate about learning. Yes, Zion is a school family.  But is JESUS that makes Zion special.

Here are somethings we do everyday
that you may not even know we do ...
We have a devotion leader who now at this point in the year says the invocation, leads the doxology, and extinguishes the candle after devotions...
...each day we take prayer requests and take time to individual pray...

...we have a prayer leader who says his/her own prayer
aloud before lunch...
...each month we learn a new  lunch prayer to
sing after the prayer leader prays...

...each month we learn a new closing benediction that we sing to each other as we leave school.

These are just a few ways your child is learning to be a
disciple of Christ!

My prayer is that your family spends time in worship this weekend and thank God for the gift of Zion, a Christian education, and the blessing of your child being surrounded by Jesus love and disciples who are passionate to teach him/her to be a disciple and witness of Christ.
