You are your child’s PFD!!
Pastor Rouland in Confirmation always says at the first class, you are your child’s PFD, Personal Faith Developer. As parents we are given the task of developing our child’s faith. Do not fear you are not alone in this task. The Holy Spirit will help you along with Zion Church and School. You may wonder what a PFD does;
Pastor Rouland gives three responsibilities:
set an example, be authentic, and be faithful.

Art: Victor Vasarely and Op ArtWe are learning to FOCUS, using our eyes, ears, and brain. When we FOCUS we look at the person talking, we listen to what the person is saying, and we use our brain to think about what the person is telling us to do. Sometimes we even repeat in our head what they said to remember. This is something you could practice at home!

A center that was NOT completed after two 20 minute centers. NEXT WEEK: I will send home the center materials and it will need to be completed at home. |
It is exciting to see the students learn the routine of first grade. I am very proud that they come in and do the morning work with few reminders. Way to be independent! Thank you parents for not coming in the school and giving your child that independence!
FAITH FAMILIES: Wednesday was our first week sitting in Chapel with our Faith Family. This is a group of students from all grades 1-8 and a teacher. We build relationships through chapel, activities, service, and prayer. This week we had our first faith family activity. We learned that Jesus will cover our worries, fears, and anxieties with His PEACE. We made book bag tags to remind us that Jesus gives us PEACE and we are CALLED TO CARE and share Jesus love and peace with others. We used then returned to chapel to celebrate Baptismal Remembrance for July, August, and September.
I can get more free stuff. Again all I need is a SIGNATURE! |
Please fill out and return if you need after care on the half days of school. |
