I am seeing too many CAR math papers.  Please look over and help your child find the math mistakes.  First Graders need to become independent but they still may need help reading and checking the Math papers.
Please correct CAR papers and return them on Monday.

I am working on following directions.  Please note that I am helping the children become more independent and I will sometimes have a following direction point on assessments.

Dates to Remember:


FIELD TRIP on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4: We will be going to see the play Frog and Toad.  Please have your child wear the ZION FIELD TRIP SHIRT (given to you on the first day of school) and uniform bottoms.  We will be eating in our classroom before the field trip.  THERE WILL BE NO HOT LUNCH AVAILABLE, but students will be able to get milk.  Please send your child with a lunch and since we are eating in the room no peanut butter or peanuts please!

Wednesday February 1 is a half day for the students.  Dismissal at noon.

February 4, 5:00 We sing in church.  Please mark your calendars! Have your child in the upper music room by 4:50 to warm up.

VALENTINES CELEBRATION FEBRUARY 14:  Please see old post for pointers and class list.

 
SIX FLAGS READING PROGRAM:  We are participating in the Six Flags Reading Program.  Don't forget READING LOGS will be DUE FEBRUARY 27YOU MAY TURN THEM IN WHEN YOU GET FINISHED.

GRANDPARENTS DAY - Save the Date: We invited all Grandparents or special adult friend to attend school on March 10, from 8-12.  More information and invitation to come!

What a great week to celebrate our Lutheran school and the 100th Day of Learning!

What is even better is that we get to celebrate every day the love of Jesus our Savior!!!

We collected $104.36 in change.
Others put $65 in bills
So for the change war our points are 39.36.
BUT we donated $169.36 for Bibles in Belize.
That is 15 more Bibles from our classes bucket for the change war!! Our class has donated 47 Bibles!!!!

100 th Day Celebration!!
We did fun centers: giant dominos with 100 cereal boxes, creating with 100 marshmallows and toothpicks, 100 year old faces, 100 gumballs, 100 day crowns, 100 seconds, 100 day snack, 100 valentines for Meals on Wheels, 100 cup stacking, and 100 day poem.

Thank you to all the volunteers to help make today a successful 100th day!!
