Friday March 13 - GRANDPARENT'S SPECIAL GUEST DAY- Please let you grandparent or special guest know the schedule that was in the invitation.
The students should come to our classroom as usual and grandparents and special guest begin in the church basement.
Our class will be performing the poem SICK by, Shel Silverstein in the Talent Show. (I will video our performance and post it on the blog) We will end the day in Church.
The students will be dismissed from the church, so if the child's grandparent is not taking him/her home please come into the church to pick up your child. I would arrive at 11:45.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND BACKPACKS to school on Friday. Friday Folders will come home on Thursday. I look forward to spending sometime with our Grandparents and special guests.
BOOK FAIR: Next week we will be going to the Book Fair Wednesday morning. If your child would like to purchase a book please send money in an envelope with your child's name on the front. I will collect the envelopes and help children make purchases.
The BOOK FAIR WILL BE OPEN ON GRANDPARENT'S and SPECIAL GUEST DAY. Grandparents and guests may take the child to the book fair before school beginning at 7:30, during the classroom center time, or after school on Grandparent's Day. I would suggest before or after school as during the class time is very busy.
The First-Third Grade Musical is May 8 . Please plan on attend that evening. If your child is not able to attend please let Mrs. Crumrine know.
Achievement Test will take place March 23-27. Please make every effort to have your child in school that week!
ZION AUCTION will be held at Old Hickory Golf Club on March 27, 2015., it is a great night. It would be fun to have several first grade tables attend!! Please bid on our class auction item!
TOGETHER WE'RE BETTER: Please support our school by using this easy program. The forms for TWB can be downloaded off Zion's website under the News section. What a great way to raise money for our school!
PRAYERS REQUESTED:
Mrs. Helmkamp, one of our preschool teachers, had her baby on Wednesday. Abigail Lydia was born at 23 weeks and is 1 lb 6 oz. Please keep little Abigail in your prayers. Also keep Mr. and Mrs. Helmkamp and big brother Joshua in your prayers. Mrs. Helmkamp sent the teachers this update Friday morning,
"Abby is doing very well. They continue to tell us she is responding well. They are able to continue to reduce rate and oxygen level as she improves her breathing. She has started feedings through a tube in her stomach of my milk. They made some adjustments to her environment based on her electrolytes levels to help her. We have to remember that everyday will be different and she will have both good and bad days."
I will keep you updated on Abby. Thank you for your prayers!

Reading chapter books can be a lot of fun. |
We painted more cards to send out to those whom we are praying for each day. |
We painted in the style of Claude Monet. |
We used a brush to make the picture look blurry like Monet did, it is called Impressionism. |

We painted lily pads in the water. Monet like to paint the water garden in his backyard. |
We used water colors to paint a big water lily garden. |
We played a guessing game by adding 10 to a secret number. |
We worked in groups finding facts and opinions. |
Facts you can prove. |
Opinions are what someone thinks. |

We then wrote an animal fact and opinion. |
We wrote synonyms for one word on a cinnamon roll. |
We then glued them onto a pan. |

Of course we ate cinnamon rolls when we were finished. |
