WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD

People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.
But Jesus called the children to him and said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Luke 18:15-17

I treasure each child in my class and I thank you for bringing them to Zion.  Here at Zion your child is given the blessing of learning about their Savior.  What a wonderful place to be!

This is an awesome week and all are invited to attend.

Our school theme this year is “Blessed to Serve.”  One way we can serve others is by helping those in need.  A local family recently lost their home and all of their possessions in a house fire and needs our help.
Let’s have a Change War!
Please bring in your change to add positive amounts to your class’s total and add paper money to other class’s milk jugs to subtract from their money totals.  Collected monies will be given to the family in need.  The Change War will take place May 2-6.
Thank you for your generosity!
Third grade has already put some dollar bills in our jug!

This week Mrs. Helmkamp came in and helped us learn about using a computer to find information on a topic we are interested in.  We used the search engine: safesearchkids.com
Many students were interested in during more research at home and this is a safe search engine.

I am sending home Book Orders.  This will be the last order for the year.  Please order on line by May 6.
Remember you can order from any flyer online.

Greater than and less than illustrations in math.
We used clay to make pinch pot animals.

After 2 days of drying we painted them.

Playing "Help the Baby" game to learn our phonics.

Working on pronouns

We did a science experiment about gas.
We put baking soda in a balloon and put vinegar in a water bottle.
We then placed the balloon on top of the bottle and dumped the baking soda into the bottle.
The baking soda and vinegar made a gas that we collected in the balloon.
We even wrote about our experiment like real scientists.
GREAT FUN!!!

Happy Birthday Jeremiah!
