Don't forget to register for VBS!!!
Shirts are guaranteed if registered and paid by May 23.
Enrollment form in School or Church office.
Invite a friend or neighbor!!

Your children are very passionate about praying; I have talked to them about taking home the church’s prayer requests and continuing to pray for those in need.  Please help them maintain an active prayer and worship life this summer.  Remember to take advantage of the various services that Zion offers.
Saturday at 5:00, Sunday at 8 and 10:30 and Monday at 7:00.
We have learned a lot this year.
I am sending home a summer activity sheet to help
your child to continue to
exercise their brain this summer!
I encourage you to join the Summer Reading Program
at the library!

I am so thankful to God for this school year.  It has been an absolute joy to share your children this year.  I have seen them grow so much and feel blessed that I was given the opportunity to teach them.  This is a wonderful class full of so many talented and unique personalities.  Thank you for partnering with me this year.  I feel that your children and you have become part of my family.  I will keep you in my heart and prayers.  I am truly blessed and love coming to school everyday.  To God all praise and glory.

FAMILY TRADITIONS

Look at all the caps we collected for our bottle cap art.  My mom and I collected caps all year!
We drew out a sketch of our picture.
Then we drew the picture on the large foam core sheet.
Then we glued bottle caps...
...and glued...
...and glued...
...and glued...
...and glued bottle caps to make a bottle caps mosaic.

Alleluia
Snake
Cat
A Whale
A Submarine
A Rainbow

A Crane

We cut out flat shapes and folded and taped them into geometric solids.

We learned about homophones and read the book, "Dear Deer".

In Science we were given a second grade assignment.
We had to find the facts in the book independently.

We continue reading our chapter books and answering questions after each chapter.

This reading group read, "Dinosaur Hunt".
In the story a dog makes a dinosaur with things in his backyard.
We built a dinosaur with things Mrs. Bernhardt found in her basement.

We hammered and glued and used tacks.

Step by step our dinosaur came alive!

If your child has a summer birthday and they would like to celebrate at school please email me the date so that we don't end up with a ton of treats on one day!

We have been working on counting dimes, nickels, and pennies.  This is something you could practice at home.
Don't forget to register for VBS!!!
Shirts are guaranteed if registered and paid by May 23.
Enrollment form in School or Church office.
Invite a friend or neighbor!!
If you have not returned your library books
please do so as soon as possible.
If you have lost library books please email me and I will get the replacement amount for you.

As it gets closer to summer I want to remind you not to take a vacation from God.  This class loves to sing the various liturgies used in church. They also have a very mature prayer life.  I ask that you continue to nourish their faith.

Make a commitment to attend church weekly.  Show your children that nothing is more important than God,
-not vacations (visit another church where you are vacationing),
-not sports (take advantage of the various services times and days),
-not sleeping in or boating or golf (show that God is important to you and make a point to worship even when it isn’t easy).

Your child will be blessed by your faithfulness to worship and will follow your example.

He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young.
Isaiah 40: 11

Being a mom can be a rewarding yet challenging job.
Please know that God is with you and
He carries you close to His heart.
May you have a wonderful day!
