April 26, 2013

We learned that when Jesus ascended into heaven He gave us a job to GO,  TELL, and BAPTIZE!
Jesus also gave us a few promises: to ALWAYS BE WITH US and to send us a helper the HOLY SPIRIT.

WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
 April 29-May 3

People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.  But Jesus called the children to him and said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Luke 18:15-17

I treasure each child in my class and I thank you for bringing them to Zion.  Here at Zion your child is given the blessing of learning about their Savior.  What a wonderful place to be!

It is hard to believe that we are almost done with first grade.  This class has been working so hard.  We have been working on paragraphs and I am so proud of the paragraphs these first graders are writing.  Take a look at your child's Earth Day paragraph.

Some students are having trouble with the spelling.  Remember to go over the past sight word cards.  If your child is struggling with the pattern words have them make a "T" chart and then come up with words that would go on the chart.  We do this at school so they are familiar with this concept.  The pattern words are all words that we have used in centers during the week.  I also practice the past sight words with them on Wednesdays.

Take a look at the pictures and captions from this week.  The pictures highlight some of our activities.

May we worship and glorify our RISEN Savior this weekend!
